Fleur, this was so interesting yet heartbreaking to see the amount of discarded, but very useable, items. Please do more of this type of content. Also...would it be possible to see more of your fur-kids in the vlogs? I miss the sweet puppers and kitties. I found your channel when YT recommended Piglet's adoption video! 🐶

Thank you for this video, Fleur. This is amazing, that an influencer like you who seemingly has more of a consumerism type of content, educates her audience about the harms of consumerism and non-recycling. Thank you for this. We are almost all guilty for falling for the fast fashion trap, and this is the blunt showcasing of the results of that.

In light of what we are all going through collectively with COVID-19, the content of this video is rather welcome and timely. I had no idea we disposed of so many clothes in the UK. This only adds to the other tonnes of waste we produce and ship to poorer countries (biggest culprit being plastic). I pledge to play my part in healing the planet by eliminating fast fashion as much as I can, it's worth buying a handful of quality pieces a year instead of the bags of clothes that are of questionable quality only to be disposed of the next season. Thank you for the informative content and I hope everyone stays safe and that we can all get back to our normal routines soon x

I was following things from January as well, not that I anticipated it would hit us all with this magnitude (my own province in the south of the Netherlands has 23 deaths as of today, on a population of 1.1 million.) I saw what was going on in Wuhan and was immediately affected, since we have Chinese customers who couldn’t pay their invoices, because everything was put to a standstill. But I couldn’t visualize what it would mean for my personally. About 3/4 weeks ago I began checking if I had enough food, if I wasn’t able to do a food shop suddenly. Life here has slowed down gradually, so it wasn’t completely all of a sudden. But these are weird times... working from home since last Monday, until at least April 6th, and there’s already talk that it’ll be extended.

Thank you for posting this. I love checking in with your family and seeing what you are up to. Super interesting about the Oxfam facility. I’m in the US and banned my kids from buying fast fashion for its disposability and the fact that it was so cheap that it couldn’t have been made responsibly. I’m currently cleaning out my closet and feeling grossed out by all the stuff I have. Thanks for the reminder.

Oh this was so interesting! We have a lot of thrift shops that get their stock from I guess one of these places, but they are usually from Japan/Korea! We call them "bundles" and the amount of stuff they have is never ending; you can see the big containers that are shipped in in some of them!

Such an interesting vlog Fleur. Thank you - so much food for thought to see that production line, and all those bales of clothes. As actually going to the shops is not going to happen for a while - its come at just the right time for me to change my ways. I will give every purchase a great deal of thought from now on. I always thought most of what was donated was resold at a profit.
