I agree but are you saying no other company puts their brand over all others? I've never seen a company market their product as 2nd best. I do agree the specifics of the test are built to favor them, but I think to some extent the results are valid. After their original video there have been many other tool reviews that did their own testing and if they didn't completely confirm what Flex stated they still proved to be a valid competitor.

The video was garbage I’ll admit it, but I got a few of there tools to start the impact gun and the 7 1/4 circ saw, and both are better than my dewalt stuff and better than my coworkers Milwaukee, the battery’s last longer on both the drill and saw, o and they charge from dead to full in less than an hour, my flex volt takes half the day to charge and dies Ian quarter of the time, so once again agree that the video was trash but there took line up has proved in my mind better, have had since they dropped day 1, I still use my Milwaukee pack out system but now it’s filled with flex

Got the high torque impact for 250, hammer drill kit with turbo for 200, impact driver kit with turbo for 200. In the end, I’ve walked away with a lifetime warranty on all tools, 3 quick chargers, 3 5ah batteries, and 3 2.5ah batteries. I’m impressed with these tools. Just being honest. With that said, I wouldn’t have bought these tools at full price. Not sure where the hate comes from. They’re just tools. To each his own. I can see your point if these tools you defend were made in America. Most of them are not.

I'm digging FLEX and I'm a Milwaukee guy. The fact is their battery system is better! The tools are made very well and perform just as well or better. Nothing beats the pack out system for box locking but FLEX is very nice. Heavier across the board but German engineering is spectacular ! Can you say FESTOOL?

Clint, the gas struts are revolutionary. And you didn't even mention the fact the Flex Stack n' Pack is made of POLYPROPYLENE. That's a space-age material, bro! I also worked on this shoot. One incredible thing about the angle grinders was getting repeatedly scolded by the director because the pad kept flying off while shooting. I personally refitted multiple grinders with different pads to no avail, before one of the Flex representatives finally took charge. He, too, couldn’t figure out why their junk couldn’t hack it. Hmmm, gee wonder why.

I bought into Flex tools in the beginning with a set of 5 tools I purchased online after falling for the promo videos, only to learn how big and heavy they are. Pretty well built and powerful, I’ll give you that, but at the time I was doing a lot of overhead work and got very fatigued with just the heft of the drill and battery. Also, I found that the chuck ran out very noticeably. Now, I kick myself every time I go to Lowe’s and see the vast display of Dewalt tools and the puny selection of over priced Flex tools directly opposite.

As a professional who has used cordless tools almost 5 days a week for over a decade flex is utter garbage for 2 reasons. 1. They are heavier I'd rather have a lighter tool because a heavier drill will fatigue your arm faster than a lighter one common sense. 2. More power does not mean better at all it makes new guys fuck shit up more often and even experience guys. These are just a homeowners gimmick tool

I was devastated because because I've always been a flex die hard fan and went out and bought just about every tool they had even the complete stack pack. With all the attachments and once I realized those tools got cold and they had been out in the building and these are brain new tools. I have and even really used them at all and I may have used 1 or 2 of them probably 2 or 3 times. Inside the house but besides that I left them out and the building in the stack pack and I've extremely clean environment because my wife uses that building for beauty. Salon but apparently they will not survive in cold weather. They will lose complete contact. The batteries won't function properly William and I had to call them. Call them in and end up having them replaced but unfortunately the thing about it is. I had a very hard time trying to replace my tools through flex. They replaced 1 or 2 but the crazy thing is after you purchase them. They'll try to find a reason not to replacement. At least a person who I spoke to so I was completely shocked because my tools were not working. And I had a huge problem with my battery chargers my rapid chargers. They completely stop working and for 2 battery chargers to not work and these were brand new just because they were exposed to cold air that hadn't been completely. Blown away I was devastated shocked and in disbelief because I never bought any tools even cheap tools where if they got cold they would just. Don't work anymore and that's what happened to me. You know so you guys I'm telling you if you live in a cold area. Then stuff apparently you have to keep your tools in room temperature. Maybe 72ﾟ because if they get exposed to cold weather or cold air. Whether it's in your garage or something for I don't know 23 days. You're gonna probably have to replace them because they probably will not work after that

Overpriced junk imo... my long time friend bought a flex impact last year and was bragging about how "stout" it was so he invited me to do a lag bolt showdown in some old sawmill lumber. I brought my Bosche Freak 2.0 impact (which isn't the best impact in its class by far) and after just a couple lag bolts, his flex must have strained a hemorrhoid cause it literally stopped working and started smoking. I hammered in a couple more bolts just to show what my 150 doll-hair impact would continue to do over his 3 long wheel base 10 broken flexi wouldn't do... he still has that impact but its been a paperweight due to the fact he couldn't get a replacement for some odd reason. I own Dewalt, Milwaukee, Bosche, Ridgid, and Ryobi (not Reeobi) so diversity is a thing for me. However wasting money is not so I don't see myself ever purchasing any Flex tools in my future. Maybe they should lower the price on their shit and quit spending so much on making a short film that has worse acting than a cheap Netflix horror film! Great video Clint, always enjoy! I would like more reviews on these tools. I'm mainly in for the lifetime warranty, if that doesn't end up being scam territory. I don't have much reference in this area, but the Flex tools were my favorite feeling in hand. Everyone's tools cost about the same +/- a negligible $50 when bought in a kit. The company seems to really be making a go at it and I'm all for it. Seems like they're in an excellent position to be a serious competitor in the market, backed by a huge corporation with excellent battery technology. My concerns are: their small tool catalog (which seems to be updated continually), their long-term reliability (somewhat negated by the warranty), and the complete lack of bare-tool options. I'm disappointed you are not reviewing their tools regardless of their "infomercials."

I'd agree that the marketing video is cringe, but I think their products are really high quality. I only have one FLEX tool and that's a PXE-80 nano polishing tool for cars etc. Their quick change heads for polishing is an absolute game changer compared to the competition where they still use spanners. Also the FLEX batteries and chargers themselves are far ahead of the likes of Milwaukee, DeWalt. I myself have DeWalt tools mainly only because I'm on their battery system, but I use a lot of Milwaukee tools at work.

This time around he was the only dude with his elbows completely bent so the drill was locked in near his chest, legs stance super wide and pushed with his whole body into the block. On the grinder test, if you watch the metal bar Milwaukee guy is cutting it wobbles and looks almost cut through, he then stopped and readjusted the cut so Flex could win. 6:06 can connect any fan to Milwaukee packout with grabbing the mod feet and adding to any brand of fan, or other tool as an fyi. Don’t get me wrong, this vid from flex was bad, BUT, this hopefully will breed better tools for us, and know other brands will go stacked battery system, which has a ton of tools and can’t wait for those batteries to use on my Milwaukee tools of yesteryear. I feel like there are competing marketing teams at Chervon, each testing their own ideas. Skil side: let's make really solid tools at good prices and let word of mouth carry the day. @@ToolReviewZone to be fair, I own a bunch of the Flex tools (most purchased on rare sale or free battery promotions). I like them, but they're still overpriced. The 6 1/2 inline circular saw is the most innovative thing they've done. Turbo mode on the drill is neat and the drywall tool with directional dust capability is also neat, but aside from that there's not much that sets them apart from other brands. (Yeah, battery monitors on both sides of the battery are unique, but not all that useful). Meanwhile Skil brought back the auto hammer on their 12v platform that got me out of a jam this weekend where the Milwaukee wouldn't fit.

You have some valid points. Marketing is atrocious. That being said, I am a real framing contractor out of Utah and am demoing the flex saw and sawzall right now. I currently have two trailers loaded with dewalt 60V and Makita 40V. From my limited use this far I do have to say that the flex has more power than the dewalt which has more power than the Makita. Ripping 2x material and cutting LVL’s it’s quite obvious that the flex is faster. That being said I still love my dewalt stuff. I think Makita totally struck out with their 40V stuff. I had their 36v previously and I still prefer it to their 40v. The biggest thing at this point is time for flex. Hopefully they hold up well and can expand their line to have more clout among contractors.

They didn't do very much to instill confidence in their company and their brand - I still don't know who they are apparently it's a company from Germany who's been making tools for 100 years but I never heard of them before last year - how do I know they're not one of those pop up Amazon brands that's gonna be gone overnight? When I see testing I want to know the model number and the stated specs for all the competition. That's why I like PF and TTC so much - every company overstates their specs let's have them read with a meter and show the actual results. Also I would have liked to have seen the new metabo rear handlr circ saw it has gotten fantastic reviews some better than Milwaukee and dewalt. They also acted like Ridgid's LSA has never existed. The original Flex was a German company, they're famous for inventing the angle grinder in 1954, but is presently owned by Chervon, same company that makes Skil, Skilsaw, Ego, Hammerhead, and a few other tool brands... Especially tools that sold directly to companies... In North America, FLEX sold mainly metalworking (grinders and polishers) and masonry power tools, but in Europe it also made and sold woodworking tools. They even had a partnership with American tool producer Porter Cable, until Pentair sold its power tool division to Black & Decker in 2004. Then in 2013 Chervon acquired them and they developed the present Flex tools over the next several years for what you see now...

I had dewalt for a very loooong time. I changed the main tools to flex and I don’t think they are bad tools. But they are not the best, drill kits are a bit too heavy. Also, lock star accessories are not easily found at Lowe’s or home depot. Makita and dewalt have many different options of tools. Just my opinion.

I work in Lowe's and Flex is by far the hardest thing for me to sell. They do seem pretty high quality, the batteries seem great and the shock absorption does as well. The few people who have bought into them have loved them but they're just too expensive/overkill for the average customer in Lowe's. Most people coming in only use their tools once or twice in a year and stick with the cheap Craftsman or Kobalt line, and any contractor we get has already bought into Milwaukee or Dewalt. The poor marketing might be the biggest issue overall though, the cringe videos you pointed out don't help, but there's also next to no marketing for them in the store (at least in mine). They have one aisle where they're sold and one tiny display we made at Christmas, most people walking in don't even realize they exist. I think if they release some yardwork tools, have actual sales during the holidays, and increase their marketing in stores, they could become a more legitimate brand, but right now their only great selling point is the lifetime warranty.

Flex seems way too gimmicky. Looking for storage boxes, and the flex boxes are nothing but poorly thought out gimmicks. The only people I see using Flex tools are people that were given them for free and they only use them in the sponsored videos. In their following videos where they are doing work, the Flex tools never seem to be used for some odd reason.

I don't care for flex as a tool brand at all. Like you said they're the same price, if not more expensive. Either they've spent too much developing these tools, or copying an the premium styling and trying to insert themselves in. Dewalt, ryobi, ridgid is what I have, possibly milwaukee later down the way as I continue to buy tools. There's literally no need for flex. They're not offering anything different.

The one guy was pushing hard on the flex hammer drill, while the other 3 was letting there tools the job, I bet if they dropped kettle bell on the flex module boxes they would crack they didn't even compare it to ryobi module boxes, hell ryobi is more Innovative and smart making tools for home owners diyers and people in the lawn care business, flex says they the first to offer a lifetime warranty on there tools when they don't realize ridgid has been doing that for years and now ridgid covers their air compressor tools under lifetime warranty, they don't have a track saw table saw or miter saw that are brushless like ryobi.

I live in North Carolina and we had some cold weather recently. And I had my tools in my wife's building that was not Heated and I realized something where I realized all my fault. All my tools that I had and were in the building and the buildings fully insulated in everything. But it does normally get cold especially when you do not have heat and apparently if you leave flex tools and a cold environment for at least. A week your tools might not work anymore

In all honesty I wouldn't even consider getting a FLEX power because they are so new to the market and dont have enough confidence that their tools will last long to keep the limited lifetime warranty permanently and they just don't have the range of tools that say DeWalt and Makita have. Just seems like they should stop doing these awkward videos and just let their tools talk for themselves like the other brands do.

Totally agree with the boat anchor comment. That's something they never mention. These tools are heavy and bulky. Yes, you get a few more volts of power, but there's a downside to that in the form of extra weight and size. For certain tasks having the extra size or power might be okay or even desirable and an advantage. But for 90% of the tasks most of us perform on a day to day basis, smaller and lighter is the better way to go. And with smaller and lighter, the performance is still pretty good and more than capable to accomplish what we need it to do. And just wait until 12 volt Lithium Pouch batteries become available from DeWalt. It will make their already excellent 12 volt line even better. Can't wait!

Flex batteries are next level, but until they expand on tools like 1-3/4” hammer drill, compact bandsaw that cuts at least 3” pipe, and as long as they are as durable like a Milwaukee I’d consider them.

I have a couple flights tools and they are awesome I had an issue with the rear handle circular saw and they sent me a new one out in the mail no questions asked so warranty is on point. The only reason I bought them is because they had such good sales but this company is dead in the water The only way they'll last is if they just hold out and hold out the whole doubt until they're on the brink of collapse and somehow they pull through

Part of being an animator is studying body language. at 8:43, can you trell me how many of these people are really pushing against the block they are drilling into? The guy n the bottom right seems to be really struggling and puttting as much effort into drilling this block as he can. The other three guys don't even look like they are putting any pressure on the tools. They are literally just holding them in place.

Flex did the test against dewalts old batterys, I didn't see flex volt or powerstack batterys been used, this has to be the worst advertising I've seen from a tool company, I'll stick with dewalt and stanley fatmax v20 power tools

Hey Clint. Here's my take on these new Flex tools. Some of them look pretty nice based on "real" field tests I've seen and not this fake ass totally staged infomercial. The tests and feedback I've seen show that some of the tools are pretty powerful and have pretty good performance specs and decent vibration dampening. All of which is cool and helps make any tool better. And the new stack batteries they have look like they will only improve battery performance and make their tools perform better than the standard Li Ion batteries most cordless tools come with today. But is the extra cost worth the, what I call, small incremental improvements over the other big 3 top top companies (Big Red, Yellow and Teal) or even maybe Metabo HPT? I don't think so. The 5 year warranty, or lifetime warranty if purchased in 2021 or 2022, makes a compelling point in their favor, but the truth is, the tools and batteries are really too heavy and bigger than I need for 95% of the work I'm doing. I'm actually looking to go the opposite way with smaller and lighter tools which is why I've started to invest in the DeWalt Extreme 12 volt tools lately, on top of the many Milwaukee M12, and even a few Skil 12 volt, tools that I already own. Yes, these Flex tools are really in a different category than the 12 volt stuff I have been enjoying lately, but I'm also already heavily invested in Milwaukee M18, Makita 18 volt, Rigid 18 volt, Bosch 18 volt, Ryobi, DeWalt XR and extreme and even one or two Power Detect and a few Flex Volt Advantage tools, and even some Skil 20 volt and 54 volt, and Kobalt 24 volt lines of tools. I just don't see a strong enough reason or argument to make me switch or add it to my already too big of a collection of tools. Plus as we've already pointed out, they're more expensive than any of the competition's tools for the same or slightly better performance, the tool selection is very basic and limited, and they're never on sale or can be purchase for anywhere near the same hot deals we sometimes find at HD or Lowe's with the hacks or clearance deals we find all the time thanks to the KZbin tool communities. Maybe one day I'll have a need for bigger, heavier, bulkier, more expensive tools than everything I already have with all the brands I mentioned above. But if I ever started feeling I needed all those things in a cordless tool platform, I'd look to the DeWalt 60 volt Flex Volt line, or the Makita 40 volt line before I'd start spending more money for over priced and over hyped tools that I already own and that already perform very good for real world construction jobs. There's just no good reasons I can think of that will convince me to make the jump. Maybe if they started to put some of their top of the line tools on sale once in a while to make it worth trying over the other brands I already own, but I haven't seen that happen yet since these Flex tools have been released. So I'm not holding my breath! Thanks for your honest review of this cringe worthy event. It's one of the reasons why I love your channel and have been a longtime follower and fan. @@ToolReviewZone No problem Clint. I appreciate what you do more than I can express. I can tell you're sincere and honest and I respect that. In reality I've been in this game a long time and have a lot of money invested in the tools that I already own and use. But with that being said, I will often buy a better performing tool after watching a good review from you or one of the few other well respected tool review channels out there. (Obviously that excludes that 🤡 show VGC Construction channel! ) (Take notes there Vance...I said well respected! Lol) And I do this just to see for myself if the newer tools being reviewed really are better compared to what I already owned. Often if they are I'll give the older, slightly lower performing, tool away to a young guy just starting out in the trade, or maybe to a struggling family member who could really use a slightly used but still good performing tool with a lot of life still left in it. But I just haven't been able to convince myself to try these Flex tools yet based on what I've seen so far, but also because of their cheesy marketing campaign. I get it, they're just trying to get their name out there, and get people talking about their tools, but I think most professional tradesman and working men and women can see right through the BS so it has the opposite effect and turns us off to the brand. Don't get me wrong, if I ever came across a great deal that I couldn't say no to, I'd give it a go and see for myself how good they might be. But seriously, most of the tools made by the big 3 or 4 main brands out there are so close in performance that it's almost impossible to improve on the performance we're already seeing in the brands that we're already loyal to. So unless Flex has some ground breaking performance up their sleeve that they haven't announced yet, I really don't see most of us who are heavily invested in the brands we already own rushing out to make the switch, or even just try one or two even for the hell of it. If the prices dropped below some of the other top brands, maybe some more would give them a shot, but for the premium prices these tools are going for, they've got a long hard road to climb to just make a dent in any of the other's already strong sales here in the US.

My favorite thing about flex is its jus another company to put more pressure on dewalt, milwaukee, and makita to keep upping their game lol if flex makes a 9" cordless metal cutting circular b4 anybody else does i will buy it tho. No1 has a cordless that size. Milwaukee 8" doesnt have enough depth of cut gain compared to a 5 7/8". My only corded tool left!
