Mine never did. Only reason I junked it was the left door fell off which rusted the floor and the chassis rail was rusted through. Still ran though and I couldn't afford to restore it. Did need an engine rebuild though. Swapped out the 2300 for a 2600 in the mid '90's as sister-in-law put a rod through the block.

It has remnants Shell-logos on the bonnet/doors and Oulu, Haapalehto reading on the sides, I wouldn't be surprised if this was some kind of a shop truck for local Shell gas station over there in 80's/90's. Kinda would wanna dig up the history of this, and how on earth it ended up in Estonia.

these Peugeot 404 engines are so reliable, in fact here in Tunisia we still have them 404 pickups as well as the 504 later model, they still running strong around here, carrying loads and doing all sorts of heavy lifting work.

A recent video from Al of 6d Diesels who got himself a Pug 404 diesel pickup showed that to get those things to fire up after standing for years, you have to crank them for a ridiculous amount of time for them to catch, after that they're relatively reliable at starting up, so long as you keep using it, otherwise it's back to square one... :P

Well done Comrade. Took a bit of doing but you got that engine into life again. In the mid 70's UK, we had the Toyota Crown Saloon, 2600cc. Was a top of the range car back then, not many were seen as quite pricy back then. Nice find. As mentioned elsewhere, these pick ups seemed to be big in Australia/NZ. 👍💯🇬🇧😉

Samochody o tym samym wyglądzie i karoserii wypuszczał też SEAT, a nasz pf 125p był importowany do Jugosławii i tam sprzedawany jako Zastawa 125./ Cars with the same appearance and body were also released by SEAT, and our pf 125p was imported to Yugoslavia and sold there as Zastawa 125.

@@vadim6385 I agree but most diesel cars are euro 5 or 6 and have dpfs or adblue additives so are very clean nowadays. And I think you are missing the point in my reply the manufacturers don't care about pollution just profits built in obsolescence costs more to produce a new car and environmental impact than running an old tdi till it failed.

Там судя по электрике особо ничего не работает, дизель старый, полностью механический, кроме топлива ему ничего не надо, на тросу прокатили и воздух выгнали из системы и камеры прогрели, вот и запустился.

They sold a lot of those In Australia. I knew a guy who had swapped in a GM Holden Six engine and fivespeed trans. It was a really nice car to drive. A lot of them in Australia were stripped and the chassis used to make Cobra replicas in the 1980's.

Prawdopodobnie ten samochód jest całkowicie zjedzony. Na pewno nie ma podłogi. One miały słaba blachę , tak jak wszystkie fiat-y./ This car is probably completely eaten. There's definitely no floor. They had very unstable sheet metal, like all Fiat cars.

Hi Flexiny....Back in the late 70's, my Dad was given one of these (Saloon)....he ripped out the old straight 6 aluminium engine.....and put a Wolseley (British make) 3 litre, straight six CAST IRON engine in it......and it RAN! Still have the radio out of it, if you're interested.

Feck . My Peugeot van has been having problems with the brakes so a few months. Done all the work now won't start. You get this this running and it runs brilliantly after all this time . Nothing wrong with it except a bit of rust . 👍

this car looks so good, you can modify it up as a hot rod, and it's a Toyota so a bulletproof engine too, i am not a fan of Toyota's but their engines are amazing, it took so long for someone to finally dethrone them and it was Mazda.

I've always been curious what happens after you fix these cars up. I doubt you keep all of them since you repair so many, so do you just hand them off to the owner to do the rest of the work in making them roadworthy? Or do they just go back into the field to sit?
