Hi, on all the review I see the pads are blue on all sides... The ones you put in your device have black sidez? Is there an extra wrapper you haven't removed before inserting the pad? All the review (with blue surface pads) are very pleased with it and report as working great. If your pad is in a black wrapper, then the chemical won't be released and it won't work? I have one on the way so will check when I get mine.

It's not a black wrapper. The pad itself is black on the sides. I have the same pads, and they do absolutely nothing, even when I have verified my unit reaches 165* C +

i just got mine and it also came with black pads apparently they're new. mine also only heats up to around 180F fromt my laser thermometer on max red power and on green it's around 100F. i haven't tested on mosquitos yet but I'm not very happy it isn't reaching the 330F temps it's advertised to.

@@Yololife813 yes the new black pads are supposed to be an improvement that's what i got. i also tested my old ThermaCell which uses butane flame to heat the metal pad and it also only heats to around 170F so i think there is a misprint in the literature that says 165C is supposed to be 165F (my product came from China) so i think it is working as intended

i got the older version, which has no light. that thing works as intended. i reckon adding the light, they had to cut corners on the main function. the only reason i even considered this version are the attachment options which are great, something i had to DIY on my flexitail because all it had was a flimsy loop belt thingy. pretty disappointed in this product. but i won't deny one good thing, it does look good.

You do realise that the claimed temperatures are at the heating element, and not on the outside of the pad right? If you want to test it properly, take the pads out first. If you are in windy conditions, it is not gonna work properly.

I just spent $50 on one plus another $25 on refills. If mine don’t work a bit better I’ll be very disappointed.

I spent $50 on the refill. I was disappointed even after the second test. I even follow the company instructions. All these reviews from other KZbinrs must be faked. Flex tail did send me a new improve pads. I haven’t gotten a chance to test it out yet. Soon I get a chance to do it, I will posted. Hopefully they send you a new improve pads. Good luck

@@bill7501 after the sent me the new pads to use. I tested a third time and it seemed to work. But it took like 1/2 hr. I haven’t test it again since. Its on my channel as well for the third time.

I tested twice and both failed. Test yours out and let me know. The company said they’ll Send me higher quality pads for me to test the third times. I have no idea there are higher quality pads.

@@Yololife813 In its marketing it states it works with generic sized pads here in Taiwan, so I was planning to just pick them up at the supermarket. Ill keep you posted!

I tested the third time with the new pads they sent me. It seems like it works. I posted on here as well . Hopefully they send you a new pads.
