As someone who bought/installed the Ambient Light Kit and the face-lift android auto screen. I highly recommend getting in contact with the dmpcardesign customer support if you get stuck. They are great and helped get volume on my android screen and the lights to turn on in my car for the kit. Once agian don't be afraid to ask them questions!

Exactly! I’ve been preaching that but people just don’t believe me. That’s the perks of spending a little more and buying from them and not some random reseller online who offers no support, no warranties, and sometimes no returns. And the products aren’t exactly the same as DMP, even though they might “look” the same. DMP always has the latest and greatest versions of most aftermarket products. And dmp can provide tech support to people on a global scale. They know installs on different versions of the same car from different parts of the world.

That’s an extra piece that you can put around your shifter area or around your gauges. It’s a universal piece. I just didn’t use it cause I thought it was overkill and required more work trying to run the power wires to it. That’s just my opinion though.

Thanks but nahh. That’s a lot of work. My mirror have blind spot detection and they can manually fold. Having them auto fold is not much of an added benefit for me to spend all that time and money to do the retrofit.

I changed modules but still same issue. Seems as if power loss or tripping when closing but i also noticed front passenger door sometimes comes back on. I imagine, in those cases, one'd just leave out the rear door trims (honestly, I am not sure if 2-door versions have those, to begin with) and the ones that illuminate the door handles, since this seems like a straight up plug & play system that requires no coding of any sort. I don't see any reason why the pocket lights wouldn't find a home in such cars, though.

Do they make a carbon kit for a b8 A5 coupe? The only differences should be that the door trims are longer and the power should be bridged from the front since the coupe doesn't have rear door modules.

I answered this question a few times in the comment second. The ambient kit cause an extra plug to piggyback the android onto it. So both can still be connected to the canbus port.

Huh? There’s no stock wiring for ambient lights. The Audi b8 and b8.5 platforms never came with stock ambient lights or wiring for it.

If you mean the footwell lights, you can change the lights and put them on the old wires but you will have no receiver to change colour

Most aftermarket parts don’t come with instructions. That’s why parts suppliers recommend you have a professional install the parts. Luckily DMP is pretty helpful and can guide you if you can do the majority of the stuff I did in my video. If you’ve never taken apart your car, then instructions aren’t going to help you. You risk doing damage and better off having a shop do the install if you want good results.

Don’t know. As shown in the video, I used a bit that’s about the same size of the cylindrical part of the handle light. The drill bit for the door is included in my kit. Not sure if it’s included in the kit for purchase. You need to ask DMP.

Quick question. I brought the same carbon emblem for my steering wheel but it doesn't stick down well. How did your stick on? Or did you do something else to make it stick better? Cheers

Just make sure the surface is clean using isopropyl alcohol, then slightly heat up the sticky side of the emblem before sticking on. That’s how you should be installing any form of sticker/decal/emblem.

Can you Show me a Image of the door cabling? I bought this package for my A5, but mine has to be plugged into 12V manually, yours came with Plug and Play. Also is the light only on when Ignition is on or as soon as you enter Car?

It’s already shown in the video when I show the parts and when I do the install. And it comes on as soon as I unlock the car. And it shuts off about 15-30 seconds after I leave my car.

The lights have nothing to do with your steering wheel functions. The lights only change if you press an exact combination of steering buttons at the same time.

I don’t know. You need to contact whoever sold you the kit. My kit from DMP Car Design didn’t have an issue. You shouldn’t have the done full install without testing the controls first. That’s why in my video I tested my kit first before i installed it.
