Upset about moving from a big city to a small town, teenager Zach Cooper (Dylan Minnette) finds a silver lining when he meets the beautiful girl, Hannah (Odeya Rush), living right next door. But every silver lining has a cloud, and Zach’s comes when he learns that Hannah has a mysterious dad who is revealed to be R. L. Stine (Jack Black), the author of the bestselling Goosebumps series. It turns out that there is a reason why Stine is so strange… he is a prisoner of his own imagination - the monsters that his books made famous are real, and Stine protects his readers by keeping them locked up in their books. When Zach unintentionally unleashes the monsters from their manuscripts and they begin to terrorize the town, it’s suddenly up to Stine, Zach, and Hannah to get all of them back in the books where they belong.

I love the Goosebumps Premiere, because it had R.L Stine, (Jack Black) to be exact and most of the main characters like Slappy, the scarecrow, the executioner, and the other monsters as well, plus the human characters too. he's supposed to, as a lot of stine's books rip off stephen king or other horror writer's ideas; of course, the haunted car refers to christine, murder the clown aka uncle theo refers to pennywise from it, the blob that ate everyone refers to the vintage book-film the blob, the body squeezers refer to invasion of the body snatchers, werewolf skin refers to the stories told of skinwalkers, dr. brewer & his plants seem to echo vertigo comics' swamp thing except manevolent, slappy the dummy is a ventriloquist equivalent of chucky from child's play, cromby the troll seems to be stine's answer to leprechaun, the giant mantis from a shocker on shock street refers to a similar classic film with an equally imposing supersized insect infestation, besides also inspiring the adam sandler comedy film click the all-purpose universal TV remote was in both a goosebumps book-episode & an are you afraid of the dark episode that were each about "reality police" who are essentially the M.I.B watching your every move ala big brother, etc. need i continue?
