One of the most underrated films of all time. This film disappeared so fast when it was released in 1974. I saw it as a second bill(anyone remember them?) with Papillion. James Coburn is excellent in the lead. This film is suspenseful without the use of special effects or excessive violence. It also contains a story which most of todays films lack. Give this film a chance it may surprise you.

I came bc I was a big James Coburn fan. Seems I rem him being in lots of movies during his day and if he was in it, I watched it.

@@grandmalovesmebest : I was the same way when it came to Coburn. At one point in my if he was in a film I paid to see it in the theater. I remember seeing him in "Eraser", a perfectly awful film. It's only saving grace was James Caan. Coburn I believe got 4th billing but was only in the film for a few minutes. The price you pay for being a fan. Thanks for your comment. It is always great to hear someone who appreciates the talents of this excellent actor.✌

@@randquadrozzi1280: I must admit that many critics were not enthralled with this tiny film. But that never got in my way of catching a Coburn film. I was a huge fan of his & I paid money to see some real duds that he made like" The Baltimore Bullett," "Eraser,"& "High Risk." But if you can take a chance on this well acted & directed film. It may surprise you. The supporting cast includes Lee Grant. Keenan Wynn, Harry Andrews & Michael Jayston. ✌ Always a pleasure to hear from a fellow James Coburn fan. Stay healthy!

Excellent movie and always Loved James Coburn for his talented acting and that wonderful voice of his!! An earlier comment was made that this movie came out in 1974. All I can say is the plot was ahead of it's time regarding politics and power relating to the same in 2020. Showing how far one person would go for that power but in this movie it was quite extreme, but nonetheless makes one stop and think and now in reality we are living in this political nightmare! I highly recommend watching this excellent movie to the end. Thank You So Much for this upload and look forward to more movies of this calibre!!👍🤗🎞🎥

I love seeing all these shows i missed over the years on here even as big of a movie dork as i am still cant see everything its great to not only see these classics but this one i seen for the first time which is always a treat. I love all kinds of movies from all different decades but id have to say the 70s are probably my favorite although since i was born in 1977 i have a real weakness for 80s and 90s as well cause i grew up on them. Great movie glad to see it james coburn always was one hell of a great actor.

What a sinister, though thoroughly captivating little 1974 "political" suspense thriller!!! It dovetails well into general _'distrust of government'_ theme so justifiably prevalent in the 70s. @@KZbinallowedmynametobestolen- Aren't you aware of the "witch hunt" that went on for communists ? Many actors and actresses had their carers killed. One of them was screen writer Dalton Trumbo. Friends used his stories using a different name so he could put food on the table. In 1952 she refused to testify against her husband at the HUAC hearings and was blacklisted from most acting jobs for the next 12 years. She was able to find only occasional work onstage or as a teacher during this period. It also contributed to her divorce. She was removed from the blacklist in 1962 and rebuilt her acting career in films. I think HUAC stands for House Un American Committee.
