I absolutely don't mind your videos above 45 minutes. I could listen to these briefings for hours. Thanks again

Great channel! Really enjoy the videos’s. Maybe worth updating to include a note about Pitch attitude limitation in alternate law (PALAL) for newer airbus models. I think this is a new feature of the airbus which I don’t think was available when you first posted this video! Around 9 mins you mention no pitch protection so could be added here. Once again thanks so much for all the videos they’ve been a great help!

Great videos about the Airbus flight controls. One note, when the aircraft enters abnormal attitude law and is subsequently recovered it transitions to alternate law for the remainder of the flight. The only difference is that it will NOT enter direct law when the landing gear is lowered, allowing the flare mode to work as normal. 👍🏻

Another great video... gradually working my way through them all. Video quality and lighting is definitely much better now. Only thing I would ask is about the screenshots from FCOM etc. They seem to appear at the right time, but disappear before you have finished talking about them, so if they could possibly stay up a bit longer that would be great. My older brain takes those couple of extra seconds to compute (and also to make notes etc). Many thanks!

Just want to commend you on the excellent content. Like a lot of other people I just zone out listening to CBT so you are far more engaging. I particularly like the lack of Ted Striker :-) in this video and commend you on the more streamlined approach. Thanks for all the content! Would be very interested to see some videos on Go Around recoveries from different configurations and a wind shear recovery to normal flight video ( after the wind shear is no longer a factor). Thank you

Yes the FCOM is a little dry. Thanks for the suggestion on GA, and Wind shear, ill put it on the list.

Captain, could you explain why in case of dual radioaltimeter failure it is necessary to perform ILA approach using LOC pb? Why it is not allowed and not available to perform approach using APPR pb on the FCU?
@airbuswhatsitdoingnow3204 жыл бұрын
Certainly. I’m many cases depending on when the failure occurs or if the Radio Altimeters have power, you man not be able to arm LOC either The reason is APPR mode for an ILS requires RA input, without it or if the a/c thinks it’s on the ground then APPR will not arm. The only time it will is when tied to aN RNAV approach as this doesn’t require the RA input 👍

Hi Captain, question please : plane going in alternate law for a reason.. Regarding flap and landing gear configuration is always like this in alternate law : flap 1,2,3, and then gear down? Or this configuration is used in altenate law just when stabilized is lost ? For example in g+y... In the sims there is a lot of misunderstanding regarding this configuration. So what and when is the right procedure to use ? Thanks for clarification
@airbuswhatsitdoingnow320 Жыл бұрын
The purpose for selecting flap 3 before gear is to delay Direct Law as the aircraft is trimming in ALTN law. G+B is slightly different.

Hi, I have a question regarding normal law please: in normale law can you stall the aircraft ? We have the alpha max, what we don't have in alternate law replaced by vsw, its a bit confusionary for me . Thanks in advance
@airbuswhatsitdoingnow3203 жыл бұрын
Hi thanks for the question . Normal Law has protections VLS V Alpha Prot and V Alpha Max protections from entering the stall. Alternate Law VLS VSW with speed stability. The Airbus can stall. However it would be inaccurate to say you can’t stall an Airbus in normal law as there have been events with specific conditions where crew have experienced stall warning in Normal Law.
@eugeniocoschignano23563 жыл бұрын
@@airbuswhatsitdoingnow320 thanks a lot for replying me. So nornally if you pull back and keep the side stick back in alternate law the vsw will low down the nose and try to avoid the stall ? Thank you
@airbuswhatsitdoingnow3203 жыл бұрын
@@eugeniocoschignano2356 the speed Stab will attempt to lower the nose which will require continued back pressure and the AC will stall
