Flight Design CT | Wings over Illawarra | Sunset Joyflight
Well, its airshow eve here at Wollongong airport and we have just watched redbull air racer Matt Hall put his Extra through its paces in preparation for the 'wings over Illawarra' airshow starting tomorrow.
One of the best parts of flying is the people you meet along the way. Today, I've had the pleasure of meeting up and hanging out with a fellow aviator, Ian, and his flying partner, Pauline. Ian, or better known as 'Biggles' to me, is a flying instructor out of Adelaide who also has a youtube channel that I recommend you check out (see link below). Biggles records most of his lessons that he gives to his students and they are full of valuable flying wisdom.
Luckily for me, he had kindly offered to take me up in his friends Flight Design CT plane and go for a bit of a fly around Wollongong. Its been awesome hanging out with these guys, and this sunset flight around my home town during a perfect autumn evening was icing on the cake! I hope you enjoy it too...

good flying. Travis Air Force Base close to the my house. From my backyard you can see the jets of the Air Force Thunderbirds do their diamond formations

Darrell Grisham The Illawarra is a small region about 80km south of Sydney on the east coast of Australia. The main town is Wollongong.

Personally I like the Alpha Trainer better...

flexairz Two different aircraft. Alpha is definately a trainer, the CT a good touring LSA

Agreed, but our Alpha flies 100+ knots without a hitch. And we use it for touring too, ferry flights across EU easily done.
