Don't go, Tell me that the lights won't change,
Tell me that you'll feel the same, And we'll stay here forever,
Don't go, Tell me that the lights won't change,
Tell me that it'll stay the same, Where we go,
Where we,
Where we go, Where we go,
Where we go, Where we go, Where we go.
Where we go, Where we,

I'm a doctor and I was listening to this song after working 20hs non-stop, with 4 more hours of work ahead of me. I was sitting alone, eating dinner at 4 am watching the window, and somehow the true meaning of this song clicked. It's an indescribable meaning of nostalgia, derealization, and calm. It's truly a window into a place I've never been before, but somehow feels really familiar...

Somehow I think we feel the same thing. It’s something you can’t describe that only you know how good it feels to you. I only wish people felt the way I felt listening to this. I’m glad you felt like you weren’t alive for a few moments, but rather ascended somewhere until the song ended. I wish it were longer lol

Back in 2014 my mom passed away I was 16 at the time and didn't want to live anymore i felt alone with dark thoughts of suicide. I was watching Byron during all these thoughts. Something told me to dm him so i did. He replied to my dm and told me it was never worth taking your own life, and that there are people himself included that cared about me and that my pain i was feeling would just go to the other people that cared for me. Needless to say he saved me and i wish i could have helped him like he helped me. Rest easy and peaceful Byron we will never forget how much you cared for others.

" Everybody in your life will have a last day with you and you don't know when it will be. " Cherish what you have today, surroundings, things that inspire you, anything that makes you keep going. We are all strong human beings, but then again we all need some love and motivation to keep us believing and pushing no matter how weird and strange the life can be with struggles, difficulties, unexpected things and many more. I am really sorry to hear what you had to go through but at the same time I am happy that there was something to make your days keep going, and hopefully you will indeed involve and grow every single day and be loved, like we all are deserved to be loved even if there's more negative things than positive ones, - Just be you and do you!

To me this song is about loss and the nostalgia for that which can never be replaced. It can be many things, a friendship, a death, a relationship, a place, a house that was lived and is no longer. A space, a street, a tree, all the places where memories were conceived and live on in our beating hearts of blood and bone and marrow. Time is fluid and endless and is cyclical, our souls are eternal yet we are trapped in a present plane where we must keep moving forward, pushed ahead by the hands of time. It’s very fitting that this film is at night, to me the night represents the safe haven for our secret dreams, broken hearts and longings for things which we will never speak in the light of day. I often sit in my car under the streetlamps and the moonlight, waiting in the stillness after the heady chaos of day, where finally there is rest to muse, muse on the wondering of existence and this human life of mine. What does it all mean, the pain, the suffering, the ultimate sting of death. I need the silence of night to ponder it all..

for anyone who's interested. the audio sample at about 4:30 is taken from one of Alan Watt's eastern meditation lectures. it says "The experience you are having that you call ordinary everyday consciousness, pretending you're not it; that experience is exactly the same thing as it, there's no difference at all... And when you find that out you laugh yourself silly." there's more which is hard to make out but it's all taken from "you are the eternal universe" by Alan Watt's. a beautiful speech.

@@TripleAgentX Absolutely, personally this has hurt me so much. I really haven't experienced anyone I know IRL dying so this is really tearing me apart. What scares me though is my brother mentions suicide about as much as Reckful did, and I never quite knew how to respond/didn't 100% take it seriously, but after today I will do everything I can to make sure he stays alive and listen to everything he says very closely. I hear it as a plea to the feelings in your heart that you know to be impossible. Every moment passes, every feeling fades, and the only inevitibility is change. To me it drips with sorrow, as if a partner knows that things won't work, and if they could just savor this moment a bit longer... But time will continue, the summer will end, and all they'll retain is the memory.

This song was possibly the last song Byron Bernstein (Reckful) listened to before taking his own life on July 2nd, 2020. Reckful is a thoughtful, kind, and loving person. I'm so glad I've gotten to know him through his streams. Mental stability is an important thing. If any of you are ever feeling down or unhappy, reach out to someone and then reach out to another if need be. Also if you know a friend is going through a struggle, then please help that person. Even if they don't want help and they might hate you for trying. Just help them, in anyway possible. Because with your efforts, at least that person will be alive to hate you. Lets take care of each other. RIP Byron Thank you for the inspiration you've given me throughout the years. You will be truly missed.

But if you did, then you'd have to repeat the "hard" part again - duh! Life is not easy, that's the point, you have to take the bad with the good, trust me, I know what I'm talking about since I actually gave up on life and decided to take my own at the lowest point of it. My ex told me the doctors said he's extremely lucky to be alive, the bullet passed MILLIMETERS from his heart. I was NOT lucky, I was given a second chance by God, still don't know why, but after a second try, if you believe in fate, I was only stopped because my estranged daughter texted me - she quite literally saved my life. My point is this, you will have trials and tribulations, just as assuredly you will have joy and prosperity, go forward in life knowing this and trying to make the best of your relatively short time on this Earth, may God bless you and yours🙂✌️

Words can't explain how much Byron meant to me. I looked up to him.. he was like a superhero to me. I always knew that even though he was everything i aspired to be he was also struggling with the same problems that i struggle with. He was one of the real ones. He didn't put on a show to please others. He was just himself even if he didn't like himself. He was vulnerable with all of us this whole time. That speaks for itself. With all that said i have a short story to share. Byron was the reason i made a rogue in world of warcraft. I wanted to be just like him. I made a rogue on tich and at around level 30 or so i was in org and there he was.. my idol was literally right in front of me jumping around on a mount by the pvp vendors. I thought 'oh man should say hi or something'.. but i was thinking 'ah he'd never respond'. I decided to to just say hi anyways. I remember exactly what i said. i said "hey reckful im a huge fan i really love your streams. i made a rogue because you make it look so fun but im pretty bad at it right now haha. anyways just thought i would say hi". I sent it thinking it would just get lost in spam. After a few seconds i watched his character stop moving. I froze. 'could he be reading my message?!'. A few moments later he replies. "hey thanks man thanks that means a lot. what about rogue are you having trouble with?". I was in absolute shock. He actually responded to me. I quickly wrote back that i was so happy he responded and told him how little i knew about the class and this man took about 15-20 mins of his time teaching some random noob how to play the class that i still play today. You were a beautiful person Byron. Im so sorry things ended up the way they did. I love you man

this song makes it feel like reality is altered. Especially when you're listening to it like at 3 am in your room in the dark when everyone is asleep and looking through the window at the stars, the moon, and the trees. Looking at the street lamps. The silhouettes of the houses. The dog faintly barking in the distance. The sky getting gradually paler by the hour as the sun comes up and you know damn well you better go to sleep or you'll regret it. Every single object in your room. The warmth under neath the blanket. Your breathing

From Australia, I came here because a company named Telstra used this as a jingle in their adverts. But after reading the comments, and learning that this was the last song a streamer listened to before ending their life, shifted my view drastically. I send my condolences to Byron’s family, friends and fans. I’m sorry it had to end like this.

I love what music can do - what it can make us feel. Ive read so many comments about nostalgia, or even nostalgia for something theyve never even experienced. For me, this sound feels like its whipsering a small window into the near future; something i can feel but not quite make out through all the dense fog surrounding it.

For many years this song has a lot of trauma related memories attached to it . I broke up with my partner after being with her for 5 years , and this was the song that was playing on triple JJJ It has always been associated with a melancholic dream , a dissociated state of sadness, numbness ,anger and bliss all bunched into a single feeling . The feeling is like DPDR when you just exist your world has been ripped from you , you have tried to control things in your life and just have to surrender to whatever happens . At the same time its a new beginning a fresh start , but the sadness of the heartbreak lingers, feelings become blended and thoughts become blurred . In a dissociated state the melancholic vibe is like a drug , your neither happy or sad , your just existing , existentially having thoughts outside of your physical body giving you the feeling of bliss. Earsdropping on your own conversations with yourself and being detached from reality externally , but also internally as your new personality has to start blossoming as you move on as a new person. Words can't really describe it , but if they could I hope that makes sense to how I interpret this song. I also suffer from DPDR - so I tried my best to describe how It all feels as best as English can describe colour to a blind person

i had severe DPDR for a couple of years my senior year of high school and freshman year of college. "Eavesdropping on your own conversations with yourself" is such a great way to describe the feeling of hearing yourself speak as though it was someone else speaking. I would speak words and it didn't feel like it was coming from me, it felt like it was coming from someone else. Such a bizarre and painful state to be in. But this song definitely has an aura of dissociation to it, but in a more calming way, I think

It is that you are looking right at the brilliant light now that the experience you are having that you call ordinary everyday consciousness - pretending you're not 'it' - that experience is exactly the same thing as 'it'. Haven't seen a single comment about how they've used the original Debussy piece. Absolutely amazing how FF have managed to sample the song little enough to create an entirely new and original song, but still capture a similar feeling to Debussy's original and pay homage to it (especially in that instrumental melody that repeats throughout the song). Not only is this a beautiful song but an outstanding show of musicality.

Yanno I still have Whalethen Bookmarks that are broken now that we use to laugh at on stream together. I stil have my 2033 bookmark too. God the times man. I remember Cata like it was yesterday, such a shitty Expansion i know right. I was such a PvE andy back then, just couldn't get behind the whole PvP, i though it was too focused on Horde v Ally and felt like that meant Role Playing. I was naive, and so blinded then. But then i remember Mop rolled around and i heard about Twitch. I remember i was going through this Crisis, all i knew was Paladin since Wrath and at the time. i just felt so washed up with the class wanted to change something. My guild disbanded so raid was dead for me. I figured screw it, i got a few friends that RAVE about pvp let me look some stuff up. and then there you were. This insanely talented Rogue, and i said heck it let me watch. and that's when it just all started. this spiral of falling in love with everything about you buddy, your personality, your humor, your intelligence, your charisma, and most of all the Beautiful hearts and friends i made in chat. It was this time that i finally got into PvP. BECAUSE OF YOU. I remember the thrill sof hitting glad for the first time. It amazes me (but perhaps it does not) that this song also affects so many others at such a deep level. This song has always struck such a deep chord within my soul. Words fail to relate the depths to which this song penetrates. The soundscape evokes a portal to the unknown, an alternate realm deep within my mind. It is both incredibly nostalgic and sad while also beautifully awe-inspiring. It represents an "in between" of heartbreak with contemplative elation. This song is truly a beautiful masterpiece. I have read a plethora of comments below and I can say that I am glad that we all share in profound emotions and appreciation stirred by this song.

i get this weird sense of nostalgia whenever i hear this song in a telstra ad. it always reminds me of whenever i go see the movies or something, because every time i go there, theres always at least one telstra ad that plays before the movie. it just tells me "everything's gonna be okay. youre gonna be okay." and i really like it. i feel happy and relaxed whenever i hear it. that part thats actually in the ad is what gets me the most. like, the nostalgia reeaally hits at that bit and thats why i love this song. thats one of the reasons why i like telstra so much. it just feels so childlike and happy but also reassuring at the same time. i find it funny and fascinating how music can make you feel that way. all because of an ad for a phone. thanks telstra :)

I've never heard this song before but there is something about it. I can't really define the emotion that it makes me feel. I can say that it reminds me of what I am hiding so deep inside of me. I've been depressed for about 10 years now. I've been hiding it for the last 4 years. I feel guilty for feeling this way because my life isn't hard at all. I have a loving family, friends, an incredible girlfriend, and a job. My life isn't hard but it feels hard. Every day feels hard. Every moment that I am in feels hard, even if I am just having a 1v1 conversation with someone. My thoughts are so utterly trapped inside my head that I feel as if my brain is stuck in an internal spiderweb. I ask myself every day if I'll ever feel normal if I'll ever be able to have a conversation with someone and not think "This person doesn't care about me, I am a burden to them". I just want to feel normal. I just want to feel confident in who I am as a person. Most importantly, I want to be able to fully recognize how fantastic my life is. I'm just tired of not feeling that way. I'm not sure where I am going with this or if there is a point. I love this song already, I love how it is making me feel but it also makes me feel too much.

I will always miss you, Byron. It deeply saddens me to know that you had no idea how much you helped me (and to hundreds, probably thousands of other people) while I was going through my depression a few years ago with your streams. I've never met a more honest and sincerely good person in the internet than you. Rest well, I always considered you a friend even if we never met in real life, or simply hadn't talked to each other.

Byron was like a big brother to me, i always looked up to him. He formed my music taste and im so happy I found him back in 2013. He made some questionable stuff but I still know he always meant the best for everyone. I believe he saved me from suicide many times. This is the last song he listened to before he made the decision. It feels like this was what he really wanted. I hope he is finally free from his own thoughts. I love you so much Byron. I felt your struggle.
