Flight into the Black Rock Desert aboard the Super Chief!

My Champ came from Oregon and the owner flew it to Reno Stead for me to pickup and fly home to Arizona. It was February and bitter cold. A super nice guy named Snoopy let me keep it in the Reno Air Races hangar overnight, and he kept the heat on all night. There was my Champ alongside all these other really cool plane. It was an awesome 'general aviation' experience that I will never forget. I'm enjoying your videos... thanks!

Yeah, they were pretty close in a few spots. But the ditch would have ruined my day before the berms I think. 😂 She loves flying!

Nice video, great looking playground. Bet you're glad you have a C-85 for those density altitudes you're operating at. Those Aero Classics make a different airplane out of the old Chief. Your First Officer flying her share of the legs takes some workload off the Captain,we need all the youngsters we can get in general aviation.

Yeah, the C-85 was the main reason I ended up with the old Chief! I got pretty close to buying a nice Taylorcraft and also a very nice original Luscombe down in Schellville, but ultimately, I was afraid a 65hp craft wouldn't work for the places I wanted to go :) Thanks for your comments...
