I'm not even halfway through the video (3:36), I also pretty much know the basics of ATC communication and watched this video for clarification to not look like an idiot, but I just wanted to mention how good you are at explaining everything and that I appriciate you making these videos very much. Very helpful tutorial. I haven’t flown a real plane in over a year and I am going to use VATSIM to help practice radio work which has always been a challenge for me at towered airports. Thanks for taking the time to make the video.

Awesome Video! I noticed that everybody (Atc and Pilots) are talking extreamly fast. Is that because there where really alot of pilots online? Because in my oppinion the fast (and cool) talking leaves big room for mistakes and may also confuse new pilots (such as me).

How do you find out the radio frequencies ahed of time? Great video series on VATSIM.

Thank you! You can look on xPilot and it will show you the ATC frequencies in range of you, so just look for the arrival airport on that list if you are close enough and most of the time, you can figure out which one you will need!

This tutorial series has been so helpful for me, and definitely a pathway into vatsim! A quick question, will controllers be ok if we hop on, use vatsim to help us taxi and take off, then just log off without landing the aircraft or without completing our flight plan?

How do you figure out a distance to a waypoint?

In the a320NX you go into the program page of the mcdu then you put the waypoint (for exemple ETKIS) just above GPS PRIMARY, it should give you the bearing and the distance to the waypoint
