The LAM in the B38M is very similar to DLC (Direct Lift Control) in the L-1011. The Tristar was known for a nose high attitude on final as well and I have fond memories looking out the window and seeing the spoilers slightly deployed.

Great video as always, you should teach this stuff IRL haha :)

He is a real life Type Rating Instructor/Examiner at his operator for both the 737 NG and Max and is the first thing he mentions at the start of this video, so yes he does teach pilots "on the Line" for their sim check, recurrency and training" IRL. I've been a subscriber of the channel since the early days and he stresses the above each time 😊

Hey mate. Are you still thinking X plane 11 is more realistic than MS 2024? Cheers James

Hey Capt, a few questions: 1) on 737 Max, FMC approach page 2/2 has runway condition. What is this page for? 2) Is there a way to tell if the parking brake is set from the outside of the aircraft?
@flightdeck2sim2 ай бұрын
I missed that one! I even covered it on an Insta post! instagram.com/reel/CseWKK7AEF4/?igsh=MzRlODBiNWFlZA== 2. Not an official way but you can use the brake pin indicators, they determine the brake wear but it's only valid when the brakes are applied.

When you say a feature is "transparent to the flight crew" does that mean it's invisible to them or that it is clear that it is activated through an EICAS alert or something similar?
@flightdeck2sim2 ай бұрын
Yes that's right, it essentially works behind the scenes and there is no indication of normal operation. I guess you're referencing the "Core Anti-Ice" system" I described where it works as required in the background but if a fault in the system develops it will illuminate the ENG ANTI-ICE light. FD2S

Question: if the LEAP engines have an automatic anti ice system, do you know what the issue is with the cowling overheating when pilots don't turn it off?
@flightdeck2sim2 ай бұрын
You’re thinking of the conventional TAI system which heats the cowl lip. Just like in the NG it’s controlled by the pilots. The core anti-ice system is completely independent to this and controlled by the EEC.

iFly Max? It's already out as a pre-release version and you can get it through the iFly Manager

Noticed today how RAAS said 'nine' rather than 'niner' and was surprised by that. Surely that isn't true in the real aircraft?
@flightdeck2sim2 ай бұрын
Tbh Richard I’ve never paid attention to the pronunciation of “9” by RAAS. It could well be it says it that way and not “niner”. The RAAS voice used in the iFly is slightly different to ours. FD2S

Got it and maybe it is like someone else said but that comment disappeared, how "niner" only is for ATC communication. I just thought it sounded a bit weird when being used to niner :)
