Its a well made bag. Really nice work on the horn. Short starter and measure all in one. That is a great idea

Just made another one this afternoon...I lost the one in this video in the early muzzleloader season. As well as the patch knife. I guess I bend over too much when hunting.

The scrimshaw horn looked very nice. The rest of your gear has given me some ideas. Thanks for sharing.

@@bkauffman0390 I just got back from shooting my flintlock for the second time. It's probably gonna be a while before I have any advice. Lol

Heard you on Ethan’s podcast (I’ve been working my way backwards) and think it’s great that some younger guys are going all in on muzzleloading. Getting set for our PA primitive season next week, good luck out there!

Nice gear man! Started my Kibler colonial kit build, and soon will need a bag and horn combo, I really like the art work you did on the horn, and your 10th gen is great stuff! VERY cool family history, thanks for another great video!

I really couldn't decide on a bag I liked so I ended up making mine out of leather. It's more for my Pedersoli Indian Trade gun and it's made of softer leather, not too hard. It had a spot for my antler powder measure I made on one side, and a shot measure I bought from a Mohawk reenactor this summer. It holds a small shot pouch I made that has 7-8 ounces, a flint wallet, some tools, and the wads for the shot. I've had it out a few times and it's the right size for me, not too big or too small. I might make another pouch for my deer guns but with the season coming up next weekend it will have to wait until once the season ends. I found that these bags are deeply personal for every shooter and tend to go with the gun and personality as well as being utilitarian.

Totally agree, I made a bag or two but frankly for what they cost, I have just bought them for my guns. Maybe someday I'll make a better one. Like you say, you can personalize them how ever you want, if you make them yourself.

Nice stuff for sure.. and I saw that photo of your group earlier-- Pretty sure, after seeing that small group, most people assumed you were shooting off the bench.. not me, I knew better. Hope to see you soon, missed you at the novelty shoot at U.C.-- assumed you were in church that morning.

Ha well thanks Joe. And yea, I can't make Sunday's at Union Co account of church. I am able to shoot at standing stone, I can get in towards the middle of the shoot. Hope to see you there sometime

Good stuff, Brian. The bear femur bone could be cut down to double as a powder measure. If using a bullet board, it might save a second or two on reloads.
@bkauffman03902 жыл бұрын
I use it as an 80 grain measure and a short starter, yup. It's 2 tools in one
