There is also usually less top-level or corporate oversight throughout development because middle management typically has a better rapport with staff. Smaller teams tend to have a smaller budget, which allows them to remain nimble through the creative process. Lastly, there is less red tape, so quality control tends to be better as well. I think that's why many studios are also trying to cut back. Money can bring in a lot of bloat.

Not sure if anybody knows of the game Mortal Shell, but it's one of my personal favorite souls like games with a unique and deeply satisfying parry mechanic, and I'm talking one that leaves me feeling like a god after a well-fought battle. Anywho, I'm hoping based on everything Alex has said about Flintlock, that it will be an experience much like that of Mortal Shell for me.

Beat it, the crashes are no joke the combat does pick up, the combats def the selling point the story is pretty mid at best and im pretty salty i never got a fully upgraded weapon bc i spent resources on a lil bit of everything

I came here more out of dropping a like for the channel so that you guys will continue to review games, but the very second I learned SBI was involved in this game was the moment I decided I wasn't interested at all. As it stands, this game could have been the more revolutionary action game of the decade, complete with cinematic flair and interesting characters, and I still would pay a single cent for it.
