I recently received a few returns and as it turns out 2 of the 3 returns were faulty returns where the buyer reported a problem with the item when the item was perfectly fine. I know eBay came out and gave us a $6 return label credit option however most reps don’t really know much about it and seasoned reps like the one I spoke to will have you handled the return this way. Hi Jon, None of us like returns! I have a Business Policy that I will accept returns within 30 days but the buyer pays for return shipping. When I refund the buyer, I deduct the price of the original shipping from their refund. EBay may send them a return label but I have never been charged a fee for it. This works for me. If the buyer complains, I just say it is my written policy which they are made aware of before they purchase from me. So far, this works well for me. Only had one buyer leave a bad feedback for which I appealed to EBay and EBay removed the feedback! Sorry about your returns. Unfortunately, there are a lot of dishonest buyers out there!❤️🙏

Are you talking about when the buyer opens a return, choosing an option like they changed their mind? Because he's talking about when a buyer opens a return saying it's defective, the wrong item, not as described, etc. In those cases, eBay's definitely charging you a fee for it. eBay lets you specify in your business policies that the buyer pays return shipping, but that only applies when the seller is NOT at fault. eBay doesn't care what you put in there, even if you put no returns, when the buyer claims the seller is at fault. I upload labels that I purchase from PirateShip, so I don't know how to view the charges on eBay, but they're definitely there if you're letting eBay give buyers labels for INAD returns. If you go into the Payments tab, it'll be in there somewhere, netted against the money they send your bank. You might be able to filter by "Refund" or "Shipping Label" to see it. I guess it could be under "Refund", "Charge", "Claim", "Payment dispute", "Other fee", or "Adjustment" though. I'd probably just look at "All types" and scroll through to find it. I'm not sure if its date will be the return delivery date, the return shipment date, or some date just around then.

True on your policy, but if it's returned NAD then the seller can't charge the buyers return fee...

Ebay should use the same shipping service and same discount for a return that it was originally sent.

The reason they do not do this is that with the buyer rewrapping and reboxing the return the package could increase in dimensions or weight. Both FedEx and UPS abuse shippers when the package weighs or DIM’s (dimensional) more than the label amount and they charge astronomical fees. USPS has an agreement for returns that allows for this and doesn’t penalize shippers on oversized returns. Imagine eBay charging you 10 times the original shipping fee because FedEx overcharged them. eBay would have a hard time trying to charge the seller or buyer, and they would probably end up eating these costs.

Ditto, I've just watched dozens of INAD videos. Nobody has a a clue how to successfully challenge an INAD false claim.

I watched the first 2/3 of it and it was explained very well. Talk to an Ebay rep, explain situation, get the OK to deduct the sum of shipping and return shipping from the buyer's refund.

i am so sick of losing money on these bs returns. people don’t realize you’re not a department store! you’re getting a deal on an item EXACTLY AS DESCRIBED!!!!! it HURTS us to return these things based on CHANGE IF MIND, only. don’t buy it!!!!!! these return labels are so expensive

To Answer Jon Question On Where to Upload Your Return Label and stop eBay From Auto sending Return Labels Here It Is - On The Top left Corner Hoover Over Your Name Or Store Name and Click "Account Settings" - Under "Selling" Click "Selling Preferences" - Under "All Listing and Orders" Click "Return Preferences (Edit Clickable on right side) " - Scroll All The Way Down to the end and Check Box "RMA Number" and This will stop Ebay From Auto sending Return Label Hope This Helps Seeya In the Next Live!

Responding so this gets bumped up. But this is true. I had a false INAD and it cost me 70 to return but I sent it for 20 with UPS. Seemed very unfair and hated that they always used USPS for INAD returns. After a day of googling, I found in the ebay forum about this "hack" and have been very happy. Now I get to upload UPS or Fedex labels for returns.

I almost never refund their shipping cost. This might be why a lot of buyers will send messages to me complaining about my high shipping cost because they know if they return their item shipping will not be refunded.

I'm done with Ebay after 15 years. They allowed a buyer to lie about me and the shipment, and without any evidence to support her claim. She refused to take the item to her Post Office after i made a claim for her, thinking that if it got damaged in shipping, at least the USPS could inspect it and make a determination. She refused to comply with any request. Someone by the same name is part of the Harvard Medical Faculty. Now, that makes no sense why this buyer would lie.

I feel like we're going to be dealing with this situation more frequently with the economy teetering. I haven't had it happen yet but when I do, I'll have some options. Being able to push back may help keep the problem from becoming too bad. I'll be blocking anyone who does this as well. Thanks for the heads up and I 👍'ed!

you're correct the black bits are almost certainly charcoal and i ALWAYS get them when i change the filter on my refridgerator.. you need to flush a new filter, some people are just idiots

You want the return so that the negative feedback is removed automatically after the refund has been processed.

I have always used Pirate Ship or similar services for my return labels. Glad you are moving in that direction as it gives you more control over your costs.

I had a buyer open a return (I have free returns) on March 8th claiming the shirt didn't fit her. I've been waiting and she hadn't mailed it yet. This morning I check my feedback and she left a good review saying she loved the shirt, it was in perfect condition but warned buyers of a strong perfume smell lol. I cutout a little tiny square of a dryer sheet and put it in all of my packages. I've been doing it for years just to ensure everything smells nice and have never had a complaint until now. I'm not concerned I just thought it was funny. But the way she tried to make me think she was gonna return this $24 shirt and clearly waited in hopes I would just refund her and let her keep it makes me so happy I now do free returns on all of my items. Buyers can no longer hustle you because it's simple - don't like it? Return it. I didn't even tell her she wouldn't get her shipping back. She completely changed her tune from the shirt didn't fit to saying she loved the shirt lol.

Also- i did RESTRICT automatic returns by ebay. There is such an option.Then i can Always buy return labels myself and then upload that label to a case. Then buyers print that label and post with MY label which is always cheaper.

I get very few returns…the ones I do get are typically for items that cost under $20 (including shipping). When the buyer Simple’s changed their mind or “ordered by mistake”, I don’t reimburse original shipping. So, in the end the buyer is getting back anywhere from $8-15. For me, I don’t typically return low cost items purchased online…it’s not worth my time.

There is a solution to the high return label cost eBay sticks you with! You CAN purchase your own return labels. I had the same issues with high return label costs until one day I got fed up and called eBay. The rep told me to change my setting to require an RMA for returns. This way you can change the address of the return (if you are on vacation etc.) and you can purchase and upload your own return shipping label. I have been doing it this way for almost 2 years now and it has saved me a ton of money on returns and I can redirect returns when I am on vacation without worry.

You can view the original shipping you paid by going to Orders -> Paid and shipped -> Clicking the drop down box next to the "View order details" and selecting "Print packaging slip and more". Once in there you will get a popup window and an invoice page that displays all what the buyer paid with and their info. Look at the bottom right. You will see shipping amount. Hope that helps.

I had a mechanic friend who would buy carburetors from Auo Zone & such, then swap out the guts and return back to the store. This same person went to church twice a week and was a college-educated mechanical engineer (just to point out the hypocrisy of his existence). Imagine being a low-income earner and buying a carburetor from Auto Zone and it was a swap out. It could cost a diyer hundreds of extra dollars and not to mention time.

With the water filtration system and the guy saying he has black specks in his water... it may be possible he lives in the country and has his own well. I live in the country with a well, and we actually will see specks in the water. It is rust. If you let a glass of water set over night, you will see them.

I just want to say that the scam buyers that I have been dealing with, have caused me to distrust everybody, I think eBay could do more to weed them out. I currently have 9 returns, in which 8 of them are fraudulent returns, falsely classified under "defective or non-working" or "not as described". How can there be so many of these types of buyers?

Ive stopped selling on ebay for this reason, too many garage sale mentality buyers on there. These buyers may be learning on KZbin how to fraudulently use the INAD return route.

it sucks eBay will always send a usps label for what ever the buyer is returning. I sell boat engine parts on eBay and a very heavy bulky item I sold the buyer purchased the wrong item and sent it back because I offer 30 day free returns. it cost me $32 bucks to send it to them via ups because I usually will always use ups/fedex for large heavy items. eBay sent them a label for usps that they charged me $103 to ship back to me via priority mail. eBay got a ear full from me for doing so and I ended up getting a refund from eBay for that label. I didn't feel it was right to take it out of the refund to the buyer so I gave eBay the chance first before I did that. ultimately eBay took care of me.

The buyer is always in the driver's seat. Some returns go very smoothly. Others not so much. Ebay keeps changing the return process slightly. Some returns are automatically approved. Some, ebay asks me to accept manually. Others ask me to verify my return address. Others want me to buy a return label. A few even quote a cost for the return label. Others want me to provide a return label on my own but ebay is not a choice. Some returns are opened and a dispute is opened almost simultaneously. Some returns are done outside of ebay where the buyer buys a full price label. Some returns just show up at the front door without warning. One thing most have in common is no communication except for opening the return. My latest potential return is a message I received yesterday. Item arrived broken. No pictures or description of what is broken. "Why didn't I describe broken item?" If UPS broke it how would I be able to describe what is broken. It's been over 24 hours since I asked for more info. Now we wait for the "driver" to make the next move. Again

I had 3 "bricks" returned to me recently. Ebay advised 3 different ways to handle them. 1. Affidavit and report. No refund. 2. Simple, return closed without refund. 3. Report, submit pics and 50% return to scammer. Are they making this up as they go?

Some reps do because they just guess or simply don’t really know. If the return is fraudulent go to ic3.gov complete the info and contact eBay letting them know the steps you have taken. Buyer will usually get their refund but not at your expense. If it is not a swapout situation but maybe the buyer used it or damaged it before returning then you would use the refund tool to adjust the refund by up to 50%.

I'll bet money that the person that sent back that Black&Decker leaf blower pulled it out of the box and slapped the battery on it and just started using it. Then immediately tried to charge the battery and got the red -.-.-.- "too hot" warning not the red ....... "broken battery" light. I have the 40v leaf blower by them that looks like a snail and I've run into that myself. BTW those B&D 40v batteries alone go for $60+.

There is a Little Trick I've Been Using For Little over 8 yrs and Still Work To Off Set The Free Return Cost Us Sellers Incur at This point It I Only Used It For Certain Category and Havent Tried It For Larger Items. i Will Test It Out On Some Of My Larger Listing and See If This Works and let You Know Through Email When a Return Comes In. I also have no problem taking back the original shipping on a good item. However, after doing so on a couple of items the customers gave a negative feedback. So even though I block the buyer from future purchases and messages they can still give a negative. Which then, I have to contact Ebay to have the negative removed. More wasted time. It's frustrating but fortunately the large majority of buyers are happy with their purchase and this kind of maybe a once or twice a year thing for me. It's really odd that this happened twice to you in the same day. - Flippin Ain't Easy!

If a refund has been processed from accepting the return, this is supposed to be an automated process and i do not have any negative feedbacks on my account from returned items. This is why i almost prefer a return rather the buyer keeping the item and leaving a negative.

ebay returns: loads of pickie buyers but one I had was, brand new sealed cell phone battery for specific phone, all details listed and written on sealed pack (on photos) buyer returned as item not as described?? battery returned in opened pack buyer said it did not fit! contact with ebay they said I had to accept and pay return, so I could not sell as pack opened and probably buyers old battery.

Sellers must offer free returns to have the option to refund as little as 50% of sale price. When buyers claim not as described, regardless your return policy, Ebay won't refund the fees if you don't give full refund plus original shipping. If you do offer free returns and dealing with false INADs, deduct the cost of original shipping and the fees which will be withheld. If you don't offer free returns, only withhold original shipping if it's more than fees because you can't count on any shipping or fee reimbursement from Ebay when reporting buyers. Best you can do is write it off on your taxes.

I get many returns per month now. They always say item is defective, item not as described, or item doesn’t match pictures. Frustrating. I think now that the economy is soft, this happens much more often than normal.

this video being 2 weeks old combined with maybe another couple weeks to produce it is possible that the buyer tried to use the leaf blower as a snow sweeper and put the battery on to charge immediately after getting the unit from the porch. cold battery refuses to charge that is for safety lithium ion batteries dont like being charged cold or hot and can catch fire. you can youtube videos on battery fires to see what happens. you may want to include instructions with any product with a battery to be sure to allow the battery to warm up or cool before trying to charge or even use it. yes there are defective products and not always does a defect show up as dead on arrival it can work for a brief period and fail so you cant fault the buyer. however if the buyer shows evidence of consistent returns then there is a possible scam or something really wrong. be very careful on flipping returns of health and medical devices like water and air filters . if you flip a used filter unit make sure to remove the filter media and clean and disinfect the unit very well and if you are going to include a filter media make sure you include the media still sealed condition because you have no idea what conditions that the unit has been in and could pose a mold hazard.

I have free returns setup, recently I had a return of bundle 2 items the defects were described the buyer who is also seller- said that the items arrived damaged with water, she persisted to give her 2 return labels she was worried that she won't get the items refund, I received the items back were not damaged condition as I shipped and described in listing..I have not refunded her shipping..if she just said she doesn't like it I will give her full refund.. I thought if I turn free returns option people will lie less on return reason but this unfortunately is not working I am considering going back to charge return shipping.

I've watched a few of your videos about eBay, and I wish I would have known some of this information earlier! I sell lower end sports cards on eBay, and have only been doing it since August of last year, but I had my first person ask for a refund a few weeks ago. It was obviously a false claim, where someone had pulled the card out of a hard top loader, and bent it. I didn't know my options, so I originally asked how it happened, because in his picture, the top loader wasn't damaged, but the card was pulled out of the top and bent way back. He wouldn't answer my questions, and the point is, when I looked into it, if I paid for him to return it, it would have cost me overall more than the entire transaction cost initially, so I just refunded the money, because I didn't want any trouble, nor a bad rating. I don't make a whole lot on eBay as it is, but for it costing me money to send him one of my cards, I thought was outrageous! It's water under the bridge now though, but thank you for doing this video, because now I know what you're capable of doing to rectify the situation. Thanks! Your videos are very helpful!

Luck of the dice sometimes. The one way was to go to help & contact, then type in Sneaker Authentication, then scroll down find the chat option and request a callback but they changed it it seems.

Jon if these batteries get too hot or too cold they will not charge and the red light will display. They have to be in the right temperature range to start charging. Fyi

get too many for a small seller. It could be prescripted dialogue which i have seen. And sent to an exort/ import place when they lisy there address on there ebay address. AFTER 30day guarntee - still ebay sides. Refund when shipped back is not even delivered yet.Ebay announced they would crack down on buyer fraud.Ebay needs to evaulate their AUDIENCE and quit nailing the PEOPLE who feed their pockets

What you described is exactly what's keeping me from selling heavier hard goods. I sell clothes and all of my returns on Ebay have been labeled 'item not as described' when the item was exactly as described- but what can you do? I wish Ebay had a way to show the description right next to the picture, instead of having to scroll down *below* advertisements for other items, because most people just don't scroll down and don't read the description (or decide to ignore it, or just lie about it).

eBay has become crap. Some people get negative feedback removed, but me? 100% positive feedback with 20+ years and some nutter with ZERO feedback gives me a negative because actual photos and a tape measure next to the item wasn't enough for her and she didn't bother to ask any questions before purchasing. Some Indian or Filipino reviewed my appeal and wouldn't remove her baseless feedback even though she stated "I'm happy with my purchase." eBay hiring foreign workers with limited cultural and language comprehension doesn't work for me. So many problems with eBay screwing the seller that I'm looking for an alternative.

If you set your account to require a RMA # that will stop ebay from automatically sending a label. Gives you time to intervene and maybe work on a resolution with buyer first. I agree with using Pirate Ship for all labels and especially return labels however one thing is you can’t automatically do a return label with UPS. You have to actually create a label by switching the names in the send and receive section. Downfall to this is you get charged right away for label and if buyer doesn’t send back you have paid for a label apposed to return svc labels charge only when used. Great topic as I had this situation yesterday with false return and should have withheld monies but I didn’t. I’m looking at these different from now on.

The ebay rep lied to you, it's stated in bold in their policy, under no circumstances are you allowed to recover shipping costs in the return deduction. IN fact if you google the right phrase and get the google snippet that sums up the ebay policy, it says in giant bold letters "You can't deduct the original shipping cost from any refund amount." so whoever is doing that on youtube, and making youtube videos telling the world they are doing it (the guy you mentioned) won't be selling on ebay long.

This is the policy i referenced during the phone call and the rep discussed this. Even before when i called to get this shipping credit it is like pulling teeth to get it. Policies may be written but what good are they if not being followed by eBay?

From what I understand regardless if eBay sides with you they can still go thru their cc company and cancel and they will side with their client. We lose. I had my first return (I’m new) and just didn’t fight it.

Was afraid of a swap or they were fishing for a discount. I’m a small fish in the scheme of things but I’d fight for an INAD if they’re lying. But still it seems like an uphill battle since the cc companies can just reverse it anyway….if they go that far.

And this is why I offer Free returns. If the buyer wants to return the item for Whatever reason, I’ll take it back. This way I don’t receive negative feedback. I’ve been told “ Buck it up. This is just the cost of doing business.” I hate that advice but I know it’s true. Also, if you sell in a category with High Returns, you need to expect to deal with these type of unfair situations. So I don’t sell Electronics, Shoes or Clothing partially for that reason.

I understand “it doesn’t fit’ etc and I feel bad thinking if it were me, I’d want to return it (even though I never have) I’m so, so new but I try to think as if I’m the buyer. If you don’t mind me asking, what types of items do you sell….generally? I haven’t figured my niche out yet. I’m still selling personal items. I lost my job last year and have nice designer clothing but when I run out I’m not sure what I want to concentrate on.

@@missmermaid6249 For me, I love and sell mainly Vintage Collectibles. One of the reasons I like this niche is because there are fewer of the same item still in existence and therefore less competition than say video games or health and beauty items. Also, these items don’t need to fit the buyer as in clothing or shoes so less returns. In this field knowledge is key and I love to research about items I’m not as familiar with so it’s fun for me. I’ve learned how to safely pack breakables so “knock on wood” I don’t have items break in shipping either.

Interesting take John, since INAD returns dont allow you as the seller to refund only the item. The shipping portion is not clickable on INAd or damaged item returns!

I just had an INAD to refund a few days ago and it gave me the toggle for the original shipping cost. In fact, it defaulted to the original shipping cost being turned off and only refunding the item price. If I hadn't been paying attention and didn't click the toggle it would have only refunded the item price, leaving the buyer to appeal. The reason for the buyers return was "Doesn't match pictures or description" and I'm pretty sure that is an INAD. I asked this question on reddit and everyone responded to me like I was an idiot and said that withholding the original shipping was not an option on INADs. Also, I had this same situation happen back in september or october (can't remember which) and I called Ebay and they walked me through how to withhold the original shipping cost. The buyer had claimed the zipper on a vest was stuck to send it back not as described. When I got it back the zipper worked perfectly fine.

I had the same thing happen on the returns i received. One of them was an inad. In all cases the refund tool was available to me to retain the original shipping and adjust the refund up to 50%

If Ebay would simply pay for all return labels it would protect the sellers as well as the buyers. Unscrupulous buyers can run us small guys right out of business with these fake returns. Ebay needs to understand, without sellers there can be no buyers. Buyers AND Sellers are their greatest asset.

Ive had two in 4 weeks! Inad one was gsp, it looked like she tore the lining, she of course wanted to send it back and knew i wouldn't want it back as i would not be able to sell it like that and wouldn't want to pay gsp charges of 20 pounds! so she kept the coat and the money, i sold a cashmere cardigan, not received it back but she got her money back....its crazy! she said cardigan wasnt as described and i should apologise, it had 2 bobbles listed as use, it seems like when they dont like things they say it smells of mould you have no way of contesting that! both of my items were high cost, lower items people dont bother, ebay dont want ot help me so ive lost, Im also afraid of negatives and defects, you feel you have to refund straight away or else, negatives they can still give even if refunded! it makes me sooo mad

While eBay tells you upfront you should be able to find it in the transaction details link. When you are looking at the sold item it is the total price you click on which is hyperlinked. I believe it is there.

eBay has become a crap show. I can't speak to a representative and if I can they can't speak English. They just repeat off of a script, and so slllooooowwly. I'm still pissed that a bad buyer with ZERO feedback ruined my 100% positive feedback by giving me a negative review for her not asking questions of information not in the description before buying. She even said she was happy with her purchase in the review and I can't leave a negative review for her and eBay couldn't care less to remove her unearned negative review. And I made a whopping $2.34 on this bad transaction.

Did you also report the buyers? There was another ebay seller that was refunding for INADs that were false and was accumulating INADs. Seller learned (from another seller) that if he reports the buyers (and uploads proof)after refunding them, ebay reviews the report and deletes your INAD.

What about negative feedback? I had an item returned and slightly damaged and negative feedback posted before I received item. I made full refund including shipping thinking neg feedback would be reversed but on requesting on computer not by phone reversal it was denied. Much later the request for reversal button showed up agsin and still was unsuccessful. I no longer have the 4 hours of patience required to speak on phone to someone speaking proper English - can list numerous items in four hours which is better time use. I don’t have a youtube channel and wonder if they treat utubers differently. Been on Ebay since 1999.

you pay for a pirate ship return label up front and include it in the package when you ship the item to them? How much time do you have to cancel the return label and get refunded if they don't request a return? Cause they have 30 days to do a return typically. Plus when they request a return does ebay even give them the option to manually enter the return label tracking number?

Hey guys. What I do to prevent swap outs is I put descret sharpie dots and photograph with shipping label in background.. I have busted many potential fraud buyers . Especially with ceramic retired items

Use the black light magic markers you can buy on Amazon for less than $10 and they come with the built in black light on the end. This way you can make your mark in a discreet location on the item and once you get it back you can tell if it is the same one or not.

@@FlippinAintEasy Over the years I’ve had many swapped out returns that I had discreetly marked. It has made little difference in a majority of eBay decisions to refund the buyer. If it comes down to “he said she said” statements it seems their decision goes in the favor of the buyer.

I wonder if eBay is dragging their feet with the economy and some people in general. Bad economy = less sales for all us, including eBay. For the others, some are put off by putting there card available just like Mercia and Posh. Shoppers are used to a few days to pay, if eBay radically changes, we all lose money. Just a thought. I certainly could be wrong. 🤷🏻‍♀️ Great video, thanks Jon.

I honestly don’t mind covering the buyer a few days. Maybe if eBay is listening, both can happen. Allow the buyer to accept the offer and select a date up to 4 days out when the card on file will be charged. This would give the buyer a chance to make sure they have money in that account if that is the issue.

I am not a fan of eBay return policy. As a seller you don’t get a chance no matter what you do to protect yourself because eBay isn’t going to. Dishearten seller of eBay . Why protect only the buyer when the seller is keeping eBay afloat. Ugh

I like your plan, though the buyer can always accelerate to Ebay, contradict your evidence and they are liable to win. And of course I'm not speaking of you, but some sellers are abusing this new ability to deduct from refunds. I had one unscrupulous clown send me a bunch of broken stuff without any disclosure. I filed a INAD then he refunds only 50% while accusing me of breaking stuff with poor packing with the return shipment. He presented no proof, I accelerated to Ebay and got the rest of my money returned. And I'd be tempted to just follow your last suggestion if your return ratio is low enough. Just take the lose but block the buyer. That's less time consuming, and for a lot of people, less stressful.

In one week I’ve had 3 returns! But eBay sends emails saying return your item if not satisfied and that promotes people to return! Makes me crazy.. are they trying to throttle us… so j is get a lot of Doesn’t Fit returns .. how much am I being charged .. I have no clue!! I refund the item but I’m probably paying for their return label that I never know about! Plus I BLOCK the swines! It’s often best offer at low prices and why can’t they resell.. I resell rather than return!

Go to your pc. Go into seller hub and go to your drafts. In the bottom right hand corner you will find a question mark. Click this and it should give you the option to receive a callback.

I will say something like, "please return the original item that was sent to you in the original condition. Once it has been determined the same item was sent back to us in the same condition, then we will process a refund back to you through ebay." Something along those lines.

Has ebay always covered you when you withhold the original shipping in these faulty inad cases? Or does there seem to be a limit on how many times they will allow it. I've had 3 of these in the past year (buyer opened INAD for a fit issue, said the item was broken but it wasn't when I got it back, etc). The first one, I withheld the original shipping, but I wasn't sure if ebay would cover it on the next two so I just fully refunded those ones. Didn't want to risk getting a defect/negative if the buyer appealed. It really sucks though.

Some would say to do nothing and wait. Buyer shouldn’t just ship back an item without first opening a return. If the item is in the same condition, maybe deduct the original shipping to spent to ship it and refund the rest. Hope this helps

Seller has to pay for return label, but does buyer also get reimbursed for the original shipping that they paid? Do you also lose the ebay fees that you paid? I'm new to this and trying to learn as I'm selling things left to me after the death of my husband. I have gotten a return request and was told it wasn't working. It looks as though the person will get back $90 more than I even received!

People are scum. The reps at eBay are mostly know it all millennials or foreigners. I would have filed something against the buyers for faulty return. It might not amount to a scam but it was not truthful so it is fraud. eBay should ding the buyers for too many returns.

Sir scam to me a buyer with I'd aes95 he order and when I shipped item added tracking after 2 day he open case item not received so how it possible 2 days delivery than I added tracking no in despute and item was in transit but after 5 days ebay close case in favor of buyer and release the funds and debit me so he also get item and also gained back his money what a new type of scam with me which ebay also support. The only way this could have happened is if you didn’t respond to the case by the date given. Otherwise if there was a delivery scan, once you upload the tracking number again you are covered. You should call eBay to dispute it.

Just Curious, are you or your subscribers having issues with delivering to California. It started about six to twelve months ago. About 1/3 of all my sales to California are going AWOL or disappearing off the face of the earth, or some other snafu. I'm seriously considering restricting sales to California (I will cancel/refund sales).

I have separate return policies set up. For items over 2lbs I do not offer free returns due to the high shipping costs involved with many of the larger items that i sell.

Not anymore. Negative feedback sucks when it happens but it doesn't hurt your account the way it used to. If you can't get it removed by ebay, then add a professional reply and move on.

There will be that 1 buyer that plays the loopholes. I don't really mind tho bc is what it is. I never refund initial shipping. And only accept shipping on the back end if item was destroyed by usps. Just wanted to post and comment for new resellers out there. You can say no returns but soon as you get return item from eBay gonna realize you do take returns. 🤣 🤣 🤣 so 1 day handling 100% positive feedback 0 returns. Ebay will force you to take return. Facts are facts. Now do you give shipping label bc you messed up or just take return on the buyers dime and make them pay both ways which is probably more than the item item in question. Only you can decide but no returns means nothing you will be forced to take them
