When i do store reviews I continue to see many of you using a white background however when it’s all said and done your background comes off as dull greyish instead. Yes you can flake with your photos and edit them before hand however if you are taking your photos on your photos straight from the eBay app, this is a little hack you can do in the pc after the fact to make your photos look a little more professional. I find I don’t even need any special back drops. I recently tried taking a picture of a shirt on my mannequin but it was in front of a whole rack of clothes. PhotoRoom had no problem removing the background! I also tried photographing a hat on my white table but everything in my office was in the background. Worked like a charm! Nothing in the background is ever needed and now I can take pictures anywhere. This also helps with lighting issues. I’ve had to try something else since I’ve had back problems and getting up and down has been an issue. Hopefully this helps out other people. Game changer for sure. I definitely like just the phone for pictures and computer for creating the listing.

I would find that method fiddly and time consuming. I use a white background with a Samsung Galaxy phone. Tap the screen to refocus and a brightness control comes up. You can then adjust there and then. Click job done.

This should help me a lot! I have a ton of trouble getting the colors right & tend to move that brightness button all over the place & it often does make it worse. I will try your tip and if it works for me it will be quicker & improve my pics. Thanks so much!

I use my phone for my whole store. Its black boards from dollar tree. Works for me. Sold 2k items and won't change. Some items look better than white background. Some don't. I don't buy into the hype on photo removal. My pics work for me not professionally taken pics. But happy with it.

Except one thing to consider and that is external traffic from Google Shopping which requires white backgrounds. Based on traffic reports that’s about an additional 10-15% in traffic.

Good tip. I'm just suprised the Iphone doesn't give you a more whiter background than what you showed. My galaxy A53 has pro features that allow me to adjust the brightness and colors to give the same or near same look without having to use Ebay's brightness feature, or a background removal tool most of the time. The larger the object, the more grey the white background will look. I just thought I a third light coming in from the back. Then again I only use two small cheap led lights and cheap white poaster board.

I have the iPhone 14 pro. It has a great camera. When you take photos directly from the eBay app into the listing like many do to save time, it’s not possible to use the tools within the phone to edit and clean up the photos. The brightness features within the app are horrible and the only way to clean things up is through the pc after the fact. Now i can of course take the photos, edit them up and then send them to the listing in the app however that tends to slow then entire process up by about 5 minutes extra per listing.

It does, you just have to know how to use your phone’s camera settings. I also use a 14 Pro and manually set my camera settings for a nice white background without having to edit photos afterwards.

Good tip!!! I use the brightness function on about every listing. I have an android with pro camera settings but i find i need to adjust my photo settings with each item. It is significantly faster to edit a single photo on Ebay using the brightness feature. I am using Ebay mobile to picture and list on the go more often than in the past so every little tip is helpfull. Seasoned seller. I listen to you to see what new features or benefits may have gotten past me. I'll keep listening.

I just recently noticed a new brightness tool when editing an existing picture on the app that wasn't showing up for me a month ago. The app does get glitchy after a while so I usually need to Uninstall/reinstall periodically to restore all functions. The one that bothers me the most is sound notifications go silent while my wifes phone is still alerting me.

You need to learn how to use your camera settings. If you shoot in auto you will never get the pure white background you’re looking for. I shoot all of my photos with my iPhone. I too used to use photo room to remove backgrounds before taking the time to learn how to properly set up my iPhones camera.

Yes. Your result was great. No need for a background removal tool. I haven't used the ebay picture editor tool for around 3 years. It works good but now I do all of my picture editing on my phone. There are many more enhancements available on my Samsung galaxy than ebay offers. There are some resellers who recommend not creating the perfect picture. They don't want a professional or stock photo look. I use mostly gray or tan backgrounds. Many of my buyers start a search from Google. Dosen't appear to hurt sales.

It's horrible. If you shoot a light object against white it edits out part of your item. If it has glare it edits that area out. If you have a shadow it doesn't edit it out. The brightness editing tool does the same thing and takes 1 second.

It helps if you have an uncluttered and very light background, clean lens (reduces blurr), and bright light (cheap led beauty ring will get you started). The Ebay brightness feature takes 1 second. You will get faster with use! Breezy easy peasy feature to use.
