Dave and Jeremy take big @loub747 out for some Chicago suburb herping to find lots of snakes, including the fox snake jackpot spot! We tried to get him to eat a Chicago style hotdog but he was too intimidated.

Good stuff guys, those Fox Snakes are so cool. I share your pain, there's only a few days left before the weather turns cold over here in the UK.

Thanks bro. Yea we never get tired of seeing fox snakes and it’s already pretty chilly here now. Might have to make a 5 hour drive south to catch the last of the warm weather. Thanks for commenting all the way from 🇬🇧.

I absolutely loved this video guys, I don’t think I’ve seen a video lately that better illustrates what a long day of herping is actually like. You really killed it at the end with those fox snakes, fall herping can have its perks. Always cool to see Lou, the sandals are a wild choice for sure. I appreciated getting to learn how to differentiate plains and Chicago garters, I have yet to find either species in the wild. Great work gentlemen!

Thanks bros! After a relatively slow start it turned out to be a great day of herping once the sun broke through. Always good to get to see Lou, he’s such a down to earth dude and loves some snakes. The cold is now upon us but that gives the animals a much needed rest. We are off to the Vegas area next week so wish us luck. Thanks for watching and commenting guys. 👊🏼

Always fun herping with Cap'n Lou and not a bad way to close out the herp season, at least in our area. Hopefully we'll see you in 2024!

Thanks bro, it was a great way to end the local herping season! We always enjoy getting out with other herpers and Lou’s a fun guy to hang out with.

It never gets below 73° where I am in Panama. I have to remind myself it’ll be getting nasty up there soon. No thank you.

Thanks for rubbing it in lol. I guess we need to come visit Panama asap!

27?!?!?! You know you're doing well when you have to put the grey in your hair. 1:46 I bet that happened to Jeff Corwin and Steve Irwin. "Crying and wearing weird sweaters"

😂. He definitely put ketchup on his hotdog, but this Florida boy can’t knock that. That’s how I grew up eating them. Grilled never boiled with ketchup and mustard. Good times either way

@@NatureInYourFace Back in Denver, we had a "Chicago" hotdog place. Transplants straight from Chicago, good stuff. Early on, I asked for ketchup on a dog, they went nuts! They yelled at the top of their lungs, "THIS GUY WANTS KETCHUP ON HIS HOTDOG!!!!". Needless to say, I never did that again.
@NatureInYourFace8 ай бұрын
@@smetlogik yea there’s a few places like that here. The one at Ohare airport has a sign that says “NO KETCHUP ON HOTDOGS”. Some say only for children haha. Whatever, I enjoy eating different foods so I enjoy a Chicago dog here and there. Dave likes the sport peppers but I’m not a fan.

You wouldn't scare THIS gal with a snake. When I was around 5-6, I had what I believe to be a San Francisco garter snake that went everywhere with me, even on bike rides. I had that snake forever, until one day it bit me...he/she had never bitten me before. As an adult, I never remembered feeding the poor little thing, and maybe it bit me because it was hungry? It was then released. Actually, I can't imagine how it survived my 'little girl life'.😳😂
@NatureInYourFace8 ай бұрын
Haha that’s a funny/crazy story! Guess that just shows how resilient garter snakes are. Still cool you loved that little snake so much. Imagine the story it told its friends and family about being kidnapped and starved once you released it. 😂 😝

Snake road this fall?

Dave is actually there today and yesterday and I (Jeremy) might shoot down there Wed/Thursday and camp one night. We didn’t plan a trip down there as we are headed to the Vegas area in a week to herp.

I’ve been following @loub747 for a few years now. I am in Davenport, IA (Quad Cities) so it’s great to find a more local channel. Do you guys ever get down this way for any herping??
@NatureInYourFace8 ай бұрын
Glad you found us as well! We haven’t been to Iowa yet but would definitely be interested if we knew of any areas to try. We were just in Missouri and frequent southern Illinois. Any good herping around you? We also do full time educational reptile shows in the Chicagoland area and love Pantherophis and Pituophis like you. We made a video on some of our Pituophis a while back.
