Nice job! It’s encouraging to see a young man working hard with his hands and developing life-long skill sets. That’s how we rolled when I was a kid growing up in SoCal in the 70’s. Keep it up.

Would love to see more on this one, but you definitely did a good job. Hopefully you get what you want for it, which can provide more funds for your daily truck. Or the next project...

Make a list of pieces you can replace, also those thah you´ll keep and make a simple excel sheet budget so you can really figure out the costs and profit you can make, also keep a record and get a total of new parts an labour invested...

i have a 86.5 with the Z24i. Carb swapped with a Weber 32/36. Great truck, if not a little under powered.
@Datsuntech9 күн бұрын
There are two different TBIs on the Z24i. One has 2 wires and one with 4 wires. Found that out the hard way... The biggest issue with these Z24s is the head gaskets. They start leaking between cylinders and people keep driving them. This causes a gouge in the head and block when you pull the head to repair it. The KA24E is a far superior engine. Buy a 90 and up to find those.

Good call on selling the truck, what is your next project? Would be cool to see a 1st gen pathfinder or a datsun 4x4 maybe? Either way I'm shure it's going to be something cool. Awesome content man keep up the good work

thanks for saving it, and giving it a chance. Does the truck have a cable or hydraulic clutch?
@SchoolforHackers10 күн бұрын
Hydraulic, and you’re on the right track.

It's crazy that anyone could start at +$800 for that non running rusty truck. The price it went for seems fair. Basically scrap metal prices until you get it running.

I am also looking at a junk car, 1997 Buick Skylark, he said he'd take what the junk yard offers him. So $200 to $250. It needs tires, fuel pump, and it would need to pass emissions, it's been sitting for 10 years.. I am not sure if I want to do this. I can't roll the car, it's sank into the ground, the tires don't hold air, and I need to drop the tank to replace the pump.

I've seen rusty truck beds selling for $400. $350 would only buy you a pile of rust that used to be a truck.

If Nissan was smart (they're not) they would start making stuff like this again. The Frontiers from a few years ago were probably the last good thing they made.

Where is anyone finding a 350$ hardbody? Cool content but definitely not realistic. All I want is to start doing this type of work. But, in California you're not finding anything in that good a shape for under 3k. Sucks to be priced out of even 40 year old light work trucks...
@SuperJmac8511 күн бұрын
Well you're not finding anything near this in Tennessee either.

The license plates are clearly Washington State and the Trash cans says Spokane which means he's basically Idaho. I left California for the Ozarks. I see cars listed for under 1K listed with no engine/broken transmission. It's pretty realistic that this truck was listed for 500 and he paid 350. There is a professional who lives by the Oklahoma Texas border. He gets all sorts of cars for cheap for various reasons. He even got a brand new 2014 Ford sedan in 2017 because the guy who bought it new ended up moving to Japan permanently. The sister in law gave it to him for free because she just didn't want it in the driveway. Towed a 5K truck for a couple of hundred because the guy died and the widow got a ticket. All he has to do is spend 800 on a new drive train

Honestly you never know. You just have to be at the right place at the right time and have cash. Some people just want to clear up space in their yard and want to get rid of their vehicles. And some people just don't care if they sell their vehicle for cheap...
