Very nice presentation and explanation of what happens to the "Western" perception when listenning or playing West African stuff... I remember I was always looking for the "beginning" of the melody with the first strike on the dununba drum, whereas it would actually often be the middle or somewhere just after the "1". But with time all these rhythms and pulsation seem to be accumulating in the mind and body and it's becoming very easy and natural to hear what's going on.

Nice...I've never studied that one but that and Takosaba are on my to-do list...it has a very long dundun cycle doesn't it?

yeh, I've learned a couple of versions, both taught by Hans, and pretty similar to the one of the WAP pages. The dununs work so well together, just like looping it :)
