I have a doubt please help me to get the answer. - River boat centre of mass - Note - boat length is high i.e. 20m. Mr. J can't swin The question is Mr. J is standing on the right end of the boat and on the left of the boat is the dock (boat touching the dock). if Mr. J move towards dock boat moved to the right ( i.e. it shifted too much and Mr. J can't jump on the dock ) . Then how Mr. J can reach the dock ? Is it possible that the boat does not shift too much ? Please read the note before reading the question and the question is good or illogical?

It's a simple matter of mass ratios, and conservation of center of mass. Suppose Mr J is 100 kg, and the boat is 10,000 kg. For every meter Mr J moves to the left, the boat would move 1 cm to the right (these numbers are displacements relative to the dock). The boat would move just 20 cm to the right, and Mr J's foot is longer than that, so he could easily walk across that as long as he keeps an eye out for the trip hazard. But if the boat itself were only 100 kg, then it would move as far to the right, as Mr J moves to the left, relative to the dock. There would be a 10 meter gap between the boat and the dock, by the time Mr J gets to the left end of the boat.
