7:14 They (the Aborigines) wanted returning BR´s to come back to the thrower because this design was primarily used to knock passing birds out of the air.. they would be thrown into a flock of overpassing birds where it would be almost a sure bet that at least one would be hit and stunned. Regards from an Ozzie

Indigenous Aus history is very difficult as very little information was recorded. Most knowledge was in story and song format and passed on verbally.
@thaddeusolczyk59094 жыл бұрын
@Benny P not quite. You then have to go chasing after the boomerang if it hits a bird. most likely it was to throw near trees to scare flocks of birds into the air where the hunters can pick them off.

It's plywood, the wood grain is laid so that you don't get 'fracture' points. Wait until you cut out the boomerang to check for dihedral. If you forgot and chose wrong, turn it over. Choose a Finnish birch plywood 1/8 to 1/4th inch. The more plys the better. Baltic birch, Marine grade are possible substitutes. You want to make sure there aren't any voids that will create stress points.

Well, that's not quite right, the range might not be further but you can encourage more end hover action or with some boomerangs another mini loop, usually with too much power they overshoot so you have to back off a bit.

I have kindof a challange 4 you. A solar and battery powered raspery pi/smart phone controlled motorized glider for 24/7 high altitude flight. It would be the perfect project 4 u guys to either tear apart and could be fairly cheap 2 make. As sleek and resistance free as possible, large surface wings and mby dual 3d printed propellers that folds back when autopilot isnt engaging motors 4 power conservation. Anyway i think u get where i am going with this self powering + charging batteries and engaging motor at same time during the day and power conservation during the night. It should be very doable with an rc plane and an awesome project 4 u guys to rly test the limits

You will do a Boomerang video but no model rocketry? You could have drag race two rockets using the same 18mm motor...the first one to launch gets a point, the one to the highest altitude gets a point and the one to touch down first gets a point ...now the winner of each Heat flies against the other competitor until everybody's had a chance to fly...

while the Aboriginal's made hunting boomerangs, they also made these recreational ones, in fact I remember one of them doing a demo at our school and every throw it came right back to him, didn't have to run around to catch it like these pro's, lol, and it was hand carved with traditional tools also, really talented to watch.

@Ethan Collins you only need a rotary tool, a cutting guide like www.amazon.com/Router-Rotary-Locator-Cutting-Attachment/dp/B087V5PXP4/ref=sr_1_42?dchild=1&keyword a spiral saw bit. No electric saw. For the sanding use a rasp bit for the rough shaping, then a sanding drum bit for final sanding. You don't need a lot of plywood a 2' by 2"2'inch square with roughly a 1/8' thickness. is enough. You can probably find it it at Hobby Lobby.

Its not that I dont like the new guy, but he admits that he dont even know how to fly rc which is what this channel is. I think he could be a valuable asset in the building scene and in beginner friendly videos. There's always been an inexperienced guy that I enjoyed watching learn and grow. The other Josh in the beginning, and then it was Stephen. I miss old flite test, beginner friendly builds instead of complex realistic planes, modest size planes you could fly in your backyard instead of behemoths that require a golf course to fly, and budget friendly product reviews. I bought the e-flite x-vert after watching josh and peter fly them in formation through the trees.
