Yeah, except she was likely taking PEDs. Her physique drastically changed in the span of a year; as well as her times. Her voice even lowered. Taking off 0.5 from your 100m time in a year is unheard of, even with wind-assist. Not to mention that she retired that same year she broke the record, conveniently the year before they started doing off-season testing. Men’s 100m records keep improving over time, yet Flo Jo’s record remains for over 35 years? All the evidence points to drugs. I just feel terrible for all the modern sprinters who can’t come close to her. It’s not fair to them. Plus, there are many other American athletes who have said they witnessed her getting injections.

@@ronald8792 She was a drug cheat, the testing at the time, weren't very good, all tests were performed before an event, by then, people were manipulating the system, they took enhancement drugs for weeks or months before an event, then take other substances to erase all traces of the drugs before the completion, this is why she was never caught. The IOC found out about this trick and decided in 1989 to change their test process, they stipulated that all athletes were to be tested randomly in the year, during training, before an event and anytime of the IOCs choosing, this method proved effective and is still being used today, infact, the vast majority of drug cheats are caught by random testing. Immediately after this announcement, Flo Jo made her decision to retire, she never ran another race, because she would have been found out. If you look at Usain Bolt and many other world record breaking sprinters, they all won multiple gold medals in their careers before breaking their respective world records, not Flo Jo, she won 1 gold medal in Italy in 1987, and it was the relays, not her own individual effort, her time was also poor, nothing ground breaking. She was running for over 10 year's professionally and never won a single individual gold medal, her time in all of her races were also average, she ran sub 11 twice in her life before she did multiple times in 1988. FLO JO is my all time favorite!!! I was a track athlete in highschool and college so I was always impressed with her!!! Interesting story: Her family and some of my family members were neighbors in Mission Viejo California and she owned a beauty salon that my Mom and Sister went to and I went and hung out with them and got to meet and talk with her!!! She was truly a beautiful woman/spirit inside and out!!! I was honored to have gotten to meet my Idle!!!! FLO-JO FOREVER!!!!🙏🏼💛🙏🏼

As a species humans are naturally supposed to get stronger, faster, smarter etc as time goes by. The fact that her record still stands after so many other records have fallen says volumes. They didn't find anything in her tests but that doesn't mean she didn't take enhancements
@beverlycharles65342 жыл бұрын
@@novaksatsuma5162 I agree with you last statement but not the basis. 1) humans r going to get stronger & faster? Interesting but Idk. We don't need to be fast nor strong to survive or thrive. We r getting taller & losing out hair. Which are also traits w no purpose, so again idk I do tend to lean toward believing she was doping. She got too good too fast with no real explanation. Also, even w improved research & training methods she still holds records? It's too unbelievable, only expl IS doping.

Flo Jo was truly a gifted champion who was way ahead of her time. I was always a petite but very muscular young girl and I loved running FAST but was always insecure/embarrassed for having muscular abs legs arms which wasn't popular on a young girl back then. Kids called me MightyMouse after a TV cartoon. The more I ran, the faster I'd get, the more muscles I got. I did not like that one bit and decided to QUIT track (after doing so well the first 2 seasons) UNTIL... I discovered Flo Jo on the scene🏃🏾♀️💅 I''m so glad to have been inspired by her beauty and unique athleticism. She helped me overcome being embarrassed about being naturally muscular as a young girl/teen. Today, I'm thankful today for that foundation that I once hated🏋🏾♀️ I always credit FloJo for helping me💃🏾🥰

Flo Jo was a black woman that left her competition in her dust! She brought many eyes to track and field. The woman in most of these pics and handing off the baton is her sister in law, Jackie Joyner- Kersee. A star in her own right. As for Ben Johnson's suspicion re: Flo Jo, well we know how that turned out. Once respected as a Canadian athletic star to the infamous steroid using Jamaican.
@anthonynattoo19352 жыл бұрын
It takes one steroid user to suspect another. Drug testing has become more sophisticated now, than 1980, so none can hide. US athletes like Carl Lewis and others are more infamously suspicious of taking drugs. Not one Jamaican female is suspected of doing drugs, they run naturally. The men's sprint record has evolved since Jesse Owens, 40 yrs later no one can touch Flojo's sprint record 🤔.
@anthonynattoo19352 жыл бұрын
Furthermore, Flojo was sprouting hair on her chin as well as developing a deeper voice 🤔 hmmmmm. Its curious how such a fit woman can drop dead at young age.

All I could do was stand in awe. It was like she was glowing like an angel. AL comes and makes her get back into the limo but before she did she looks at me and winks her eye and gets back into the limo. I never did get an autograph. I was completely frozen at her natural beauty. Not a drop of makeup on her face. I was absolutely crushed when she passed.

Over the course of one summer I diligently did stretching exercises I hadn't done before. My strength and speed increased by 8 10ths of a second and I became the 2nd faster sprinter.
