Mystery solved I think. Video explains how the island would have been formed and what may happen to the island in the future. Scientific Approach towards the mysteries and the formation of the island.

Youre not a scientist nor a geologist. But your theory amd the connection you made to the locals version of the caves to sink holes, commands I take my hats off. Much respect and love from a Labasian in Auckland. This is like a PhD dissertation. Thank you miss, for your research and hard work into this video

Those gases there can be methane gas which helps it to float since methane is lighter than air. The methane gas could have been formed from decomposed plants. An as per its movement it depends on the wind as the side wind directs the island tilts and releses gas from other sides which directs islands movement. The movement also depends on weight. If people stand on the island on one side the island will tilt and release gas which directs its movement. Ma'am ur explantion on the formation of the island was spot on 👍. Loved it.

I wonder if someone has dove into it to actually prove that there's indeed an expansion land mass under the island. Plus this floating island, during low tide do people actually see that landmass underneath? Any picture of the island taken from above. Interesting topic. Love it. I hope you do more videos as such than just cooking. I love it🥰👌

I don’t think anyone jumped in the hole and came back. May be if someone equipped with proper safety gear and with approval from the local government, dives down the hole can bring out more details about what is down there as to the cave system and the landscape below.

How come the island is still there ??? I visited it 45 yrs ago and my whole family climbed onto it and it moved into the middle of the lake and later came back to the mainland and we got off ! Looking at your video the island to me hasn’t reduced in size and it looks exactly as I saw it then ! I am actually shocked to see it still floating all these years !!
@IndianCookingwithSuganthiSu

Few people had contacted me after watching my video, to tell me that they knew the island when there were more than one piece floating. The smaller pieces of land drowned already. It seems Local boys used to jump in and out of the island and play. Like I had mentioned the island could possibly break into smaller pieces or into two pieces eventually. It might happen any time within few years from now OR few Hundred years from now. Or it might not even break at all but just shrink in size when the edges get eroded and fall into the water. The changes to the island depends on the water current underneath, and the erosion of the soil that’s holding the roots of the plants on the land piece. Like I had said, this prediction is strictly based on my scientific study. This is my prediction. That’s all. I am not here to hurt any ones believes or faith.

@@IndianCookingwithSuganthiSu... Ma'am If you watch videos of floating islands in Peru ,they use water grasses to create artificial islands. After some time it naturalizes itself. I believe the local Council should plant such grass on this island to keep it from breaking. It is a tourist attraction. Agriculture Dept can help.
@IndianCookingwithSuganthiSu
@IndianCookingwithSuganthiSu 3 жыл бұрын
@@prophetsj1180 thanks for the comments. Nice hope. I am aware of the artificial islands created with water grass and other materials around the world. These artificial islands are floating in shallow waters. But the floating island in Fiji is formed by deep sink hole and the water body beneath this island is like a bottomless pit filled with water and heavy water currents underneath. Not just water current but poisonous gas as well. It is not advisable to go on to Fiji’s floating island to do any digging. There could be weak spots on the island because of erosion. So digging could be very dangerous. Even going near the edge of this sink hole is dangerous. The edges going to get eroded eventually and slowly fall into the hole making the mouth of the sink hole wider and wider as years go by. Even expert swimmers will not survive if they jump or fall into any sink hole filled with water. The two water bodies where the artificial islands in Peru and the Fiji’s island are floating are very different. Tourists can visit but there should be fence all around the hole. It is not safe to go too much near the edge of the hole.

Navindran Goundar {Dj Navin} ....... What is the mystery there. ?? She has solved it scientifically. It was created by a sink hole. Her scientific explanation is backed with facts and pictures. The pics right before you are a proof. The Wala trees and the ferns on the island are also on the land around the pond.That proves that the island was part of the land mass before the land sank. She has scientifically proved her findings.She had said without knowing that there must have been 3 or 4 islands there initially. There is living proof that there were 3 or 4 islands there before. I am a living proof that there were two islands there by the 60's. I saw pictures of Two Islands in The Fiji Times when i was young.People were talking about two islands there. These pictures exist in the archives of The Fiji Times. You are contradicting yourself. You don't know what you talking. On the one hand you commending her for her good research ,on the other hand you say she hasn't proven anything scientifically. She has proven everything scientifically. There is no mystery there to prove.

Everything she says is correct. It is a sink hole. The ground there just sank in. There were two or three Islands around early 60s. Pictures were appearing in Fiji Times newspapers. I saw it as a kid. Notice the Hala Trees on the island are also around the sink hole. That means the island was part of the ground that sank in. When it filled up with water that intact island bit surfaced and became a floating island.
