🇫🇯 The Ultimate Fiji Food Tour!
👕 T-shirts: store.migrationology.com/
🌶 Ghost Chili: amzn.to/3PNTvNQ
NAUSORI, FIJI - Welcome to the beautiful islands of Fiji and today we’re on the main island and going on an ultimate Fijian food tour. Get ready for some of the tastiest local food in all of Fiji!
First of all, a huge thank you to my friend Andhy Blake, he’s a TV host and Fijian producer who loves to eat and who arranged our entire trip to Fiji. Check him out / andhy_blake
Here’s all the places we visited on this ultimate Fijian food tour:
1. Nausori Market, Nausori, Fiji (goo.gl/maps/JN6hSoDQ1hbFHn766)
We first walked around the main Nausori Market for a taste of all the local ingredients. We stopped to eat at Tee Totoka for their famous tea buns. And Finally met with Sera, who owns the greatest seafood stall at the market selling Kovu Kaikoso - Sea Clams in Coconut Milk!
2. Elvis Kana Place, Nausori, Fiji (goo.gl/maps/bFB1Pz5CzCJyYVpKA)
One of the most delicious of all Fijian foods is rourou with mutton, raro leaves with mutton, and it was an honor to see the full cooking process before eating it.
3. Namuka Village, Fiji - Continuing our tour, we visited a village just outside Nausori that’s famous for making vakalolo - a cassava coconut dessert.
4: Mokani Village, Fiji - Something else you have to try when you visit Fiji is called bila - fermented cassava bread, and no one does it better than here.
5: The Bar Belle, Suva, Fiji (goo.gl/maps/vuZ4FEXXE1sXkUrd7...)
The food tour isn’t over, we drove on to Suva, the largest city in Fiji to eat at The Bar Belle, a laid back restaurant serving local Fijian seafood.
6: Tasty BBQ, Nausori, Fiji - This Fijian food tour wouldn’t be complete with some Fijian street food, and I’m talking about Fijian BBQ that includes lamb chops and sausage!
We had an incredible time visiting Fiji and I can’t wait to share more delicious and unseen food with you coming up in more videos in this series.

At nearly 10M subscribers, some other creators won't bother with public markets and street food anymore. You watch their food/travel channels slowly go from being budget to luxury the bigger their channels become, until they're unreachable and unrelatable. But Mark has remained true to his channel's roots, which I think is why he is one of the biggest, most respected food vloggers around. He remains humble and still goes on these street food tours, not because he can't afford luxury, but because it's what he loves and makes him happy. And you can see the genuine, sincere passion and joy in his eyes being in these public markets and hole in the walls, chatting with humble folk and eating street food. He's genuine, sincere, consistent, steadfast and passionate (exactly the kind of people we need more of these days), and that's why he's successful and happy. So much respect for you, Mark.

I am Bangladeshi American and now i live in Fiji for my husband's work. This video made me smile. When you went to Bangladesh, I loved those videos of you enjoying the Bangladeshi food. And seeing this also made me smile as I am so familiar with everything you showed. Suva also has a huuuge market like the Nasauri one. I just love going there every weekend. As a foreigner living in Fiji, i can attest that, people are so friendly here. Always welcoming. Genuinely happy and they all have a the Bula spirit here. Glad you got to experience this. I feel blessed to have the chance to call my home for another 2 years. There was a news about you here that a famous youtuber is visiting. Since then, i have been waiting for this video :)

As a Filipino, in this video I realised that Fiji and Philippines has its similarities, especially in food. The ingredients and the way it is prepared. Coconut -- grated and milk, cassava, lemongrass, sea grapes. We use banana leaves as a wrap instead. Looking forward for more videos in Fiji, and countries that food and travel vloggers don't usually go to.

Yes we have so much in common. Not only the food but language as well. For instance eye in Fijian is "mata" and the same in Tagalog.Mother and father in Tagalog is "nanay" and "tatay".In Fijian the letter "y" is removed, so we say "Nana" and "Tata" respectively. The numeral five is the same,"lima".Our food and culture is so similar even though we are so far apart in terms where our respective countries are located.Bula from Fiji.

"Authentic" is my review comment. I was worried about about sprucing up the food or locations for Mark's visit, but this was not the case with Andy as tour guide. Using Fijian words like "bula" + "vinaka" captures the accuracy and respect. Mark using his hands to eat expresses his genuine nature to understand food. Vinaka.

Mark has had rourou before in Trinidad 🇹🇹. However we know it as callaloo, and we use ONLY the youngest taro leaves that sprout from the middle of the stalk for the same reason Mark mentioned (use of any other taro leaves will scratch your throat and gullet). Trinidad has exactly the same colonial history as Fiji especially with the indentured labourers so it is no surprise many of the dishes look familiar, even the preparation is mostly the same.
