The new TrailHunter is a amazing truck with a great starting foot print and with Toyota bring the aftermarket companies onboard is amazing. Clay your portable truck raft is unbelievable! It’s kinda funny I seen a guy that was selling a set of ridge pontoons for quads. And I was thinking about how to do the same thing for a truck. And you have already made it happen. Would it interest you to know that a group of Aussies did this back in the mid 90s? They travelled across northern Australia during the wet season. They used much smaller inflatables tied together to get the 2 80 series cruisers and the 75 series cruiser across the swollen rivers up north. The guys did it for Bushdriver magazine. Bit of trivia.

I designed a pontoon boat where the pontoons fold up onto the deck , with a trailer axle and a tongue so you pull the whole thing like a trailer. fold down the pontoons, lock them in place , back into the water, unhitch , drive up onto the deck, fold up the tongue, start the out board and away you go.

How much power (amp hours) is available from the hybrid battery to run the fridge and induction cooktop? Were you running off the trucks AC inverter and is the output pure or modified sine wave? Can you run the fridge off the beds DC plug to avoid the inverter losses? Can you do dc to dc charging to a separate house battery bank off the hybrid system (given no alternator)? And finally is the “catarack-truck carrier” part of the Toyota affiliated partner product line available directly from Toyota? 😊

The WeBoost antenna is not on the current Trailhunter/Accessories program! We wanted to outfit the vehicle in a way that could be driven home from the dealer with nearly all accessories installed.

@ExpeditionOverland- The boat frame should be lifted about 6+ inches to get the rectangular frame out of the water, you are adding a LOT of drag every time you dip those frame rails into the waterline.

Is the compressor on the truck not sufficient? is that why you had to pack another compressor on top of that?

Automotive air compressors are designed for high pressure/low volume applications like tires. Inflating this raft would require a much higher volume of air. The onboard compressor would probably take a day of continuous use to get the job done!
