I’ve only done one VERY EASY float 30+ years ago. Even though I love water, I was terrified for most of the run. But the last rapid was just plain thrilling! Your vlog brought back all those same thrilling feelings, together with a cup of coffee in hand (I didn’t spill a drop!) on my comfy couch. Thank you! 🥰

Life is good when you can float the Deschutes in the summertime and have a milkshake at the Oasis. Appreciated the aerial views of the rapids and comments about the best way through them.

That was fun to watch! I’m not a fan of white water but we’ve hosted many groups over the years that loved it!

Have driven through Maupin but never played there. I loved the virtual float, Ted!

I'm the "expert" Toby. It is usually so busy at the shake area there is no parking. Also Ted's rafts had something many others didn't . A grab line. If you felt you may fall out we included a taught rope between both side to grab on too. Some boats... many boats like to have water fights during the lull's of rapids. Self bailing boats are the best way to go if you dont use a local guide. Just make sure you put the cold water on the boat before you finish inflating it. Ted (dad) and I guiding people for several years. And at the two biggest rapids they have photographers. Ask him for his rocket photo at boxcar. The back eddie you saw in the vid was people making mistakes. Probably not their fault. I took a 2 person Tahiti boat down the same one... I stayed in the boat, eventually alone. No matter what its a f7n, good day. If you go a mile or two past sandy Beach you will find Shears Falls. Not your typical waterfall, but a place worth seeing. Native American fishing docks are there as well as a fish ladder. People have tried to take their boats down it. But there is a rope going across the river for people mistakenly going to far.
