I am still kicking myself for not ordering one of her lipsticks when I ordered my foundation. I just couldn't choose which color and couldn't really afford more than one. Well, this video should help me narrow it down a bit for when I do get the opportunity to get one 😁

The plan is to do a lipstick video once a month for the rest of the year. I haven't done an overview of my favorite nude lipsticks yet though so I think that may be coming next month. And I am hoping both Essence and Catrice will launch new lines in the spring time.

I deeply love these lipsticks but after having them for a year or so, every single one has broken at the base. I've fixed them but I hope they can make them more sturdy since I'm gentle with them and they still broke.

Oh no that is so unfortunate. I only had one break and that was right after I bought it. I would definitely contact the brand so rhey can at least check for batch numbers.

Hi. Do you store your lipsticks in the fridge? I store a lot of my cream and liquid makeup there, including lipsticks, and find it helps keep them in tack. I just reviewed 3 of Lisa's new shades and haven't had any break yet. Saying a prayer lol!

I agree you look so good in bright or more saturated colors. I think you need the contrast with your dark eyes and fair skin. Blush totally pops on you. OMG! I think you are my lip stick twin! 👀💄 I’ve always found it so hard watching swatches because they pull so differently on me, but every single shade I have pulls the same on me as they do on you. I have a slightly deeper complexion, but also neutral to cool with dark eyes and the same (but slightly darker) lip color. I prefer dark, saturated colors and I love reds. Bookmarking this for my next Lisa Eldridge haul!

Colours that in my opinion really looks good on you: Velvet muse, velvet blush lightly, velvet morning (didn’t expect it I have to say!) and velvet carnival, those colours bring life to your face. In the other hand, colours that I think don’t work on you: velvet decade and midnight, they wash away life. Thank you for this review. I love how you explain the shades. So helpful! I have a super fair cool undertone and find most lipsticks (and makeup in general) lean warm. Nothing I hate more than warm peachy browns on me lol. So I appreciate what you mean! I just reviewed 3 for the first time in Rosy Shell, Velvet Beauty, and Skyscraper Rose, and love how cool they lean. Most light pinks are super bright blue and even I look terrible in that tone but Rosy Shell has the right amount of cool with a hint of warmth. Love her lipsticks! I store mine in the fridge and find it helps liquids/creams and lipsticks last longer and not break as easily. Super helpful video!

Hi Maaike I really appreciate seeing all the swatches both on the hand and the lip - gives me a better feel for how they would look on me. I like the look of a couple of them - the blush lightly and the beauty are the two that most appeal to me tbh lol (neither of which are your favourite). I'm even paler and more cool toned, so anything with a peach undertone looks off, as does anything too beige/nude. I wear pinky nudes, mauves, dusty rose and lilac pinks - all of which look the best on me. I'm not a red lipstick person, nor do I wear anything dark. However anything too too pale doesn't give me enough colour to the face. My own lip tone is a pinky mauve so shades that are a variation of that (or a bit deeper) work the best. I look dreadful in anything too light or with a yellow/orange undertone - makes me look ill. I thought most of them worked well on you, but you do suit a bright lip far more than I do. I have tried brighter shades in the past, but tend to blot them down to more of a stain for them to work. I tend to wear more eye makeup and keep the lips fairly understated tbh - that's my preferred look on me. Seeing the shades on pale skin though gives me a really good idea of what would and wouldn't work on me. Shopping online can be difficult to get a really good idea of shades and they can appear different in real life. I like lipstick and will save this video for reference, as I will invest in one when we're not wearing masks everywhere. Scotland mandates masks in all public places and I haven't really been wearing lipstick very often tbh. Stains and lip balms have been what I've been wearing for nearly two years - I can barely remember the last time I wore an actual bullet lipstick. Best wishes.

Hi! Catrice dupes high end brands all the time, but sadly their recent lines and formulas have been very disappointing to me and therefore not worth it. If yoi can find it then def check out their Power Plumping Gel lipstick in 030 Speak Up. It is a more lightweight, shiny version of Charlotte Tilbury's Pillow Talk.
