Yes me too, I wish more YT BEAUTY channels would be untanned fair skinned and cool undertoned. It's almost impossible to find someone who isn't caked in fake tan 👀

It’s unbelieable how different cheeky looks on you. I have fair skin w/ neutral to pink undertone and this lipstick turns into a dark purple in my lips… and this always happens with nude shades. I don’t understant that AT ALL

Hahaha okay you just gave me the idea that it's my pink skin that's causing Lippy to look like a dark, both rusty and purple-ish brown on me 😅 even for the lighter, cool toned people, I haven't found anyone online it looks similar on, so how will I know which shades would look good on me when the testers are mostly useless in my drugstore 🥲

Did you shake the tubes before application? The texture changes quite a bit when you give the tube a 20 sec vigorous shaking.

i noticed for myself high end lipsticks usually have more complicated colors with more flattering undertones. i agree with other commentator - reds look good on you, but nudes/neutrals i personally dont like that much. i was never able to find good nude on budget. cheers, like your video as always!

Agreed. I prefer high end lipsticks for a reason. I only found one great drugstore nude for myself over the years, but plenty high end.

I have three of them and really enjoyed wearing them. I don't remember whose video I saw, but the person said if you skip the pressing your lips together while applying part, they will last longer and they become more transfer proof. Edit: I have the shade 50 Wicked (bought in a german drugstore) and it is a cool toned classic red. *** I should have waited with my comment. 🙈

That shade pulled pink on me. And yes I saw that tip too about not pressing your lips together but since my top lip is much smaller than my bottom lip that doesn't work for me. If I just apply product one lip at a time I end up with too little product on one and too much on the other. I have to spread it out to ensure even application.

But with ink formulas it’s more about build up than pressing lips to spread it as classic lippy is easier to spread than liquid is . Pressing lips will smudge it if it’s liquid type

Always give them a good shake before applying, brights are really compliments your complexion :)

@@FloatinginDreams It won't help with the opacity only makes the application process easier. My hands were literally in pain from the shaking🤣, but it was less gluey and thick for the application.

I think it would have been helpful if you reapplied foundation/concealer around your mouth. You're saying the color disappears, but that's because the area around your mouth is so red. The application is a bit sloppy on the bottom lip.

Of course I reapplied product around my mouth. And these are so difficult to remove that you need to rub quite a bit to get them off. That increases the redness, makes your lips swell up and your lip line disappears as a result. So yes application can get sloppy along the way but due to my naturally more pigmented lips a red line around my mouth after applying a lipstick that is not the right shade or undertone for me becomes extra noticeable. Has nothing to do with how I apply lipstick, but everything to do with a lipstick's formula,, shade and performance.

The last red looks great on camera! Have you thought of having olive undertones? Once you see the green you can't unsee it 😳. Olives can also be cool and fair but there is a misconception that all of them are warm toned.

Nah I don't have any green in my skin. My veins are super blue (almost purple) and I tried a foundation aimed at olive skin and it was so far off! I looked green which was not a good look. I am neutral for the most part but prefer cool tones on myself. However most of the makeup world is aimed at warm tones which means about 75% of all makeup is far too orange for me.

I loooove the way reds look on you Maaike! It flatters your skin tone and hair color so well. How you feel about peaches is how I feel about Terracotas.... they do nothing but make me look even more orange and shiny and greasy. Not for me. Also the roses tones I could never but you look sooooo pretty in rosey tones. It flatters you so well, I wish I could pull off rosey tones so bad. For shade LIPPY I’d recommend a lip liner and then a concealer to sharpen up the edges that way it won’t look as smudgy around lips 👄? Great video very informative 🎉

Thanks for the tips, but as I was swatching these back to back your lip line simply disappears. I always press my lips together as my top lip is very small and too much product gets dispensed if I don't do this.

It's a bit disappointing the finish is more satin than shiny... I like few of the colours so maybe I'll try it. I really dislike the smell of the Lifter glosses so much I can't use them. Does this smell similar?

Yeah I was hoping it was shinier too. I don't remember the scent of the glosses. But I didn't like it very much overall.
