Objects dropped in water, often take a weird path to the bottom. I suspect they went under the hull. Pull the narrowboat back a little and fetch the magnet out again. Its kind of a fun task :)

Just wanted to let you know that this Vlog and the following one, #90, are in the top 5 of all of the narrowboating videos I have enjoyed since discovering you and your fellow boaters! There is the secret fleeting "silver lining" of the covid crisis in that the aspect of having the entire world to yourselves really came across dovetailing with that same annual aspect of spring itself. Thank you, Fran, for identifying and taking several moments with the pups in the wild garlic, and the shot of the dogs swimming in the canal, esp. with the quintessential stick was most lovely.

Your specs might be made of a non magnetic material (aluminium etc.), so maybe you should try with a fishing net instead? (Should be mandatory on every boat!) 😃 Try it if you still are on the same mooring 😊

Hi Fran Dropped my specs in a lock whilst VLK . After a lot of magnet fishing for hours I realised there's no iron in our specs , its titanium or another alloy so had an expensive optician visit . Stay safe you both and keep them blogs coming .

The wild garlic are ramps here in the usa i think. If you see them on a restraunt menu be prepared to get your wallet out. I used to fix them with the last venison from the freezer,,,fantastic. Wishing i were there,,,,

I've noticed the dawn chorus a lot more since lockdown, as my sleep pattern has changed....and I sleep with window open...it's beaitiful, amazing...I hadn't noticed it for years ...rather like you noticing more details of the spring...we are all slowing down and seeing/hearing more .... looks lovely where you are moored. We live in Northwest Indiana, 2 weeks ago it was in the upper 60*F, this morning there was 2 inches of snow on the ground, quite a change. I can well understand your towpath being super busy. In Adelaide bike sales are up by 100% - there are people walking, running and cycling everywhere. I have also been watching spring happening day by day in the local beech woods walking the dog, almost nothing grows on the ground due to the dense canopy. It's little bit of stress relief as it is well populated with birds. Please stay safe and post what you can.
