I always thought Flobots shoulda blown up bigger. They’re so dope, and I don’t think they have a bad song. Check out the track “Mayday!”.

This song has been stuck with me since I was a toddler. My mom would play this song on the radio when she drove me to school in the morning from preschool to 2nd grade. And it's been one of my nostalgic favorites. And as I grew up, what really hit me was the meaning behind this classic: The song tells about how creative, powerful, or destructive men can be depending on the paths we choose at life. It's about what we choose to do at life once we go our own ways. It starts off with two childhood friends riding bikes, then they go separate ways. One friend is working in the community and cares about people, while the other friend is working in the corporate world and cares about power. Then when the corporate friend ends up becoming a powerful leader taking over the world, the community friend leads a rebellion against his former friend. And the song ends with two friends clashing at each other as the community friend gets shot and killed while the corporate friend sees this and starts to regret his corrupt actions. Good reaction, though! 👍

Thank you for not taking a shit on this track reaction like several other reactors. It seems to be impossible to understand the track without the video. And it is a trumpet. My favorite remix track I ever did is over this instrumental. Got a shoutout from Flobots on IG for it LOL

No handlebars I’ve always thought of as similar to the “wheels coming off” in that all checks and balances are gone. Clearly more poignant than ever. Someone leading the nation “with a microphone…” 🤔 and letting people die rather than give out vaccines? Like damn.
