I don’t understand the game plan from Vance here. Obviously Lutes plan was to stay in N/S, avoid the guard and attack the upper body. Which he did beautifully. But what the hell was the game plan for Vance? Lay there and survive? Sad show for Vance here unfortunately.

10th Planet lul. This gym is all hype and marketing. A brown belt ran through one of their best guys. Severely lacking in fundamentals.

I'm not sure I'd say that. 10th planet guys sometimes seem to have problems with fundamentals when it comes to dealing with fast, pressure based styles, but you can't deny they're the most innovative group out there. A smart guy would take some pages out of their book without falling into the traps associated with relying on rubber guard.

No argument Vance couldn't do anything really in this match. But you're making a poor argument if you're trying to discredit 10th planet. One could make the same argument and say that the Gracie's jiu jitsu is complete bs bc they let Eddie Bravo tap Royler Gracie years ago (ironically when Eddie Bravo was a brown belt himself - and did you know that Royler at the time was a three time ADCC champ?) So then if the Jiu Jitsu world couldn't stop Royler from being the ADCC champ three times, but Bravo could, then fuck all jiu jitsu schools except Jean Jacques' school; you can quickly see how this argument falls apart. Much respect to all schools who maintain integrity regardless.
