I think Dominica discovered Floor's sensitivity. When she was doing the Best Zangers show, she discovered she could not sing certain songs. After some testing it was determined that she is "extra sensitive". In her case, she has to have a connection to the song before she can sing it. That connection is what ties her to the song and is able to communicate that to her audience. It is what makes her able to communicate each song to her audience and the audience responds to that so well. The confidence she exudes is apparent to her fans in the live audience. Adagio is an italian word, that means "Slowly". This is also used in music to define the pace of a music (a bit slow, between lento and andante) and also as a name of a piece of a sonate, concerto or symphony that is using that specific pace. The music from this song of Lara Fabian is a pop translation of an italian classic piece called "Albinoni's Adagio". It was written in 1958 by Remo Giazotto who was an admirer of Albinoni, a musician from the 17th/18th century. He claimed it was from him and give his music this name but there is consensus today that he most probably has composed it himself. The classic music piece is globally famous and was translated into a pop song for Lara. She wrote lyrics in english and italian for it and is the original performer. She kept the title Adagio and wrote a story with a double meaning: a woman that is awaiting to find her love / an artist that is awaiting the god of inspiration. Floor does Floor things, as we like to say. And that's exactly why I love her version of this song very much, while with Lara I do prefer the version with Italian lyrics. Maybe it's because I like the sound of that language (Caruso by Lara is my favorite) although I hardly understand a word.

So you're a trve metalhead then.😄🤘 The original is from 1999. It was a big hit at the time. Lara is no joke herself. She had started her career before autotune became a thing. In those times one still had to have a voice and know how to sing. The music also used to be way more complex than it is now. Today it doesn't matter anymore and "pop" has become a derogatory term. I can't say I have ever liked it much, but some songs were at least enjoyable. Maybe the Goddess with her solo project will revive the entire pop genre. Haha, "High Hopes" indeed.

Another emotional performance by Floor Jansen on a par with the original by Lara Fabian. What makes her special is the versatility and empathy she brings to her singing and not just vocal gymnastics as shown by some incredibly talented technical singers. You don't need six or seven octaves if you are perfect in three and a half.

Lara Fabián.. The best complete full artist.. Voice, resonance, breath control, passion, interpretation dynamic.. diction.. Don't even try to compare Lara Fabian to Floor.. Floor is great..I like her and I consider her an amazing singer, but please.. Lara is another level. And yes pay attention at both performances and you will realize how much more warm and full of resonance and passionate is Lara's version.. And the diction.. Floor looses a lot of air and sustain at the end of some vowels and she doesn't put the same dynamic and color. Plus sometimes you can hear that she is not in perfect pitch.. Come on😅😅.. Floor is better than Lara Fabian.... Arghh!!!!! Pleaseeeee!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Nope, it is recorded in one take (!) in Floor's singing shed in her garden, and recorded and mixed by her husband and Tommy Johansson of Sabaton. NOT in a high tech studio with tons of machines for manipulating. So this is actually a "LIVE without audience". Furthermore Floor is widely known as the ultimate LIVE BEAST, who always sings better live than in the studio.
