Identical? Take a still from both videos and compare ... . Floor is pretty tall, even taller than most men in most countries, Tarya is not. Faces ... well, both women have long hair. I'll grant you that similarity ;) Hope you do a bit more Floor, though. Floor uses her hair to 'windmill'. Yes that is a verb. At least now it is. (Watch e.g. Romanticide, yes Wacken again. Pretty heavy song.

Yes, well they both look and sound right for the part of being the front woman for Nightwish. The biggest difference is that Tarja has more operatic training and you can hear it in her voice. Floor has a wider range of vocal tones and styles to choose from and her voice is great for the band now. 🎤🔥

In the 1st video - you watched indeed Nightwish with their 1st female singer Tarja Turunen and Marco Hietala, bassist and singer. This performance took place in 2005 in Helsinki, Finland, in the "End Of An Era" concert. That was also Tarja's last concert with the band - she was fired by the rest of the band immediately after the show, with an open letter. Bitter-sweet memories.. The 2nd video were recorded in the "Beste Zangers 2019" Dutch TV show, with Floor Jansen (the 3rd and present female singer of Nightwish) and Henk Poort, a well known Dutch baritone (he performed the main role of Erik in the Dutch production of "The Phantom.." musical). So you had the pleasure to meet 2 of the singers of the band in this double reaction :) Now, referring to Nightwish: about the instrumental and vocal added parts - it's good to know they recorded their orchestral and vocal back tracks with prestigious institutions as London Philharmonic Orchestra. London's The Metro Voices choir group and London's Young Musicians Children's Choir as their regular partners. Since this is your first Nightwish reaction, it is my duty to give you the [updated] short history of the band concentrated by Ann Waychoff, one of the biggest Nightwish fan who has since passed away (and I am doing this in her memory): " Nightwish was started in 1996.They are considered a Symphonic Metal band, with a female main singer. They are from Finland. Tuomas Holopainen, the keyboard player, composes and writes the lyrics for 95% of their music. [The 1st Bassist of the band was Sami Vanska, he was with them until 2001. The 2nd one was Marco Hietala, as Bassist and vocals, since 2001 to 2020. He recently announced his retirement both from the band and the public life for the next year at least - we'll see what the future brings to us. Then very recently (May 2021) Jukka Koskinen became the 3nd Bassist of the band, for at least the Human :II: Nature tour] And there is the guitarist Emppu Vuorinen . Then there is Troy Donockley from UK who is a multi-instrumentalist and vocals. Jukka Nevalainen is the drummer. In 2015 due to Jukka's health issues Kai Hahto became the drummer and as of now is a permanent addition. Nightwish has had three singers. 1st one was Tarja Turunen (Operatic vocals) - you heard her in the 1st video. She was with them until 2005. The 2nd one was Anette Olzon from Sweden (Poppy, strong vocals). She was with them until 2012.The 3rd and current singer is Floor Jansen, from Netherlands (power, operatic, soprano.....most versatile) - you heard her in the 2nd video. Hi Mireya. The first song is Nightwish with their former singer Tarja Turunen ( singer Nightwish still 2005 and also an amazing singer), so…no Floor. Floor is the third singer of Nightwish since 2012. The second Phantom is Floor with the Dutch tenor Henk Poort. Next song to react…. Check out Nightwish - "Ever dream" live. It's a great melodic metal song with both Floor and Marko vocals. You'll love it, and it's a great introduction to Nightwish. After that, you'll have to do "Ghost Love Score". That's the standard Nightwish introduction, but I think you'd really enjoy "Ever dream" as a short introduction to Nightwish 's range. Oh, and "I Want My Tears Back"! But you have to watch the 2019 Buenos Aires performance.

The singer in the yellow dress was the original member of Nightwish, Tarja, with operatic voice, fantastic with the bass players voice, Marko. A bit sad as this was her last show, but only the rest of the band knew that. Part two, from the programme "Beste Zangers", is the third female singer from Nightwish, Floor Jansen. She was "discovered" by her home country with this, leading to sell-out concerts. The whole 2019 series was a gem, well worth watching for the comments from the other singers. It is not a competition... Henk was the Dutch Phantom, he got you with the growls! He did this especially for Floor, did you see her face as a response?

Floor admired Henk a lot in her younger years. She was thrilled to perform with him! In this show she sang with him for the first time. Henk was doing the Phantom of the Opera in the Netherlands a long time ago and was one of the author's favourite singers of this role. Henk agreed to be in the show singing with Floor on the condition that he would be on the setlist of "Nightwish" to perform this with her again. I think COVID prevented that, so it is still a promise to be fulfilled. The show itself "Beste Zangers" is worth a look as well. Emotions and friendships run very deep with 7 artists from the Netherlands from all genres. They are challenged to sing to each other important songs for the one in the hot seat that night, usually outside their comfort zone. In the 2018 edition a full opera singer sang Eminems rap for example. It is all extremely high quality and there are versions with subtitles in English as it is of course in Dutch.

Well, Floor isn't THE singer for Nightwish. She's their third singer (and generally considered the best one). She's been their singer since 2012, so you'd have to look up the date of the recording or performance to see if it's her. 15:20 That face sums up Floor as a singer. Also, I have to give Henk Poort credit in this performance. He manages to have a dominating presence despite being noticeably shorter than Floor. Fun fact: Henk Poort first sang in a metal growl only a day or two earlier for this show (he sang Disturbed's cover of The Sound of Silence). 21:42 And that is what we call a Floorgasm.

Many people already reacted that only the second singer is Floor. But here at 'Beste Zangers Show' they do a life performance too! If you want to see Floor with Nightwish I strongly recommend watching 'Ghost Love Score' (Wacken Open Air 2013 - LIFE, before 82,000 people! How life do you want to have it?). Or try 'Storytime' (same show ... or 'Everdream', or ... any song of that show, but please do Ghost Love Score. Won't sau no more: for you to experience it yourself). Beste Zangers is a Dutch tv show with only professional singers. One singer is in the 'hot chair' and the others will sing songs for him or for her that have a special meaning to that person. Often a song of that person herself / himself. Henk Poort sang The Sound of Silence for Floor. He uses distortion, like he did in the Phantom here. But in the Sound of he did it for the first time in his life! (And he is 65!) He told the others that in his world (opera) that kind of singing is not even considered 'singing'! The last episode the do duets, that is where the Phantom came from. They clearly used the Nightwish version for the arrangement. Comparing Tarja and Floor is difficult. Tarja and Nightwish became quite famous (with her opera voice in metal, atr the time pretty novel). But for me Floor Jansen has so much more emotion in her voice and is so much more versatile. I have seen many reactors crying listening to Floor. If you want very emotional songs, try The Poet and the Pendulum, or The Greatest Show on Earth (London) (all life), or Shoemaker or Procession of their latest album Nature II (not life). But please please please, do Ghost Love Score, ... please?

The Floor version was a bit tamed down for the TV audience in The Netherlands. Henk actually played the role of The Phantom in the Dutch production. In the second part Henk added some distortion to his voice for the first time ever, just for Floor. You could see the look on her face! Great job lovely lady! Loved it!

Henk Poort is a trained opera singer and was the original Phantom in Netherlands version of the show and one of Andrew Lloyd Webbers favourite Phantoms. Prior to this show he had never sung with distortion he learnt it to sing Sound of Silence for Floor and then this song to close the show. The other singers on the show had not heard of Floor except for Tim Akkerman who had been on the same touring circuit in her younger days. Her first song on the show was the Aria Vilja Lied and the shock and astonishment on the other singers faces when they realised how good she was is a wonder to behold. I strongly recommend that you check that out. Incidentally there was a Thunder storm in progress while they were singing this and if you look carefully you can see water dripping through the roof.

If you make an new NW reaction video maybe of the song "Ghost love score" or "Storytime" from the same conzert ? The first is the perfekt song for starting NW reactions - it's a very very beautiful song and shows Floors great voice and in how many ways she can sing, the 2nd is a metal style song, but not a harder one, harder one songs are "Romanticide" or "Song of myself", the last one would i ask you to react, all from the same conzert. From a distance Tarja and Floor look alike indeed, but their voices are so much different. Tarja has a strong Finnish accent, while Floor speaks and sings perfect English. If you want to hear more of Henk Poort, he sang 'Sound of Silence' to Floor in her episode of Beste Zangers 2019 and there are so much more stunning performances on this 2019 season. The Phantom isn't a opera, it is a musical. Henk played the role for many years in the Netherlands and was one of the favourite Phantoms of Andrew lloyd Webber. Henk was a childhood hero for Floor, so as soon she heard that Henk was to join the show, she immediately accepted also. Throughout all the episodes you can see her fangirling over him. She just was determined to sing this duet with him in this last episode of Beste Zangers 2019.

The first song was indeed Nightwish, however, the singer was not Floor Jansen. Floor is the 3rd (current) singer of Nightwish, the lady you saw singing was the 1st singer of Nightwish back in 2005 - Tarja Turunen. That was Floor in the 2nd video.

Hi Mireia, Tarja Turunen was a great idol for those young guys in those days. She was something so great for them. For that reason those tears in their eyes. Marko is a real haunting phantom in this song with his rasp voice. I noticed Gabriel Bardac had enclosed some info of Nightwish. I'm sure even you're not fun of metal music you'll find lots of enjoyable songs with this band. Just open the door to the world of Nightwish and have good time. About the other song with Floor Jansen. She is a supertalented singer with a such amazing versatile voice. You didn't expect Henk to sing with a growling voice. He surprised Floor with doing that on that show. They were actually talking about being put in a box and stereotyped. So Henk obviously came out of the box. They were/are both in Nightwish, both have long dark hair and both are great singers, but that is where the similarities end. Tarja’s voice is all about that operatic tone, whereas Floor has a greater diversity to her voice - capably handling both rock and more classical sounds. Their timbres are very different, I think. But, unintentionally, you have created an interesting comparison of two great performances. I prefer Floor’s more gentle vibrato and she kills that final note which is a bit lost in the more metallic Tarja-Nightwish version.

the Nightwish video is there 1st singer Tarja from 2005 , the 2nd video is Floor (The current singer of Nightwish) on a TV show in the Netherlands, PS Floor Jansen has her own U Tube channel full of cover songs, Master classes for singers (she's a vocal coach also) & much much more

Nightwish has had 3 female front singers. The first video you played was the very early version of the band with the original singer, Tarja. They had a more pop sounding singer 2nd, Annette Olzon and Floor was and is the 3rd singer and the one in the 2nd video with Henk. As you go through the complete library of Nightwish you will see the differences. Tarja more operatic, Annette pop and Floor a mix of all genres. Floor had opera and classical training that shows but she can do all including growling in a couple of her performances with Nightwish. A little history, Floor married the drummer from the band Sabaton. Floor went to school with Simone, the front singer for Epica. and Simone is married to Oliver Palotai, keyboardist and guitarist for band Kamelot. The guy that you mention on the right side is a latino singer named Rolf Sanchez who grew up in Holland. He normally sings SALSA and other rithms from the Caribe. In this season, Floor sings one of his songs in Spanish "Que se siente". It would be interesting for you as a Spanish speaker to react to that. Maybe you will want to listen to the original sing by Rolf first so you can apreciate more what Floor did with the song.

My personal opinion of the Nightwish version of this song is that Tarja, or Floor, depending on the era, is always very strong and the right voice for the part. Unfortunately this is not so for our beloved Marco. He has fantastic rock vocals, but the part requires a Henk Poort, and I find his vocals rather a distraction here.
