The man sat opposite Floor with the Black and white shirt and a beard is Rolf Sanchez who wrote the song. The song is about his break up with a long time girlfriend. Rolf is half Dominican and he spends 6 months of each year working in Latin America. Rolf wrote this song as a Salsa and it was No 1 in the Latin charts for about 8 weeks. Floor cannot speak Spanish so learnt the song phonetically but had it translated so that she understood the meaning and knew where to put the emphasis and emotion into the song. She and the band reworked the song to how she wanted to sing it to suit her style. A remarkable piece of work. Rolf loved it.

The laughing toothy grinning guy on the couch is Rolf Sanchez and Floor was singing the song he made a hit. Also, Floor speaks several languages fluently, but Spanish is not one of them, which makes the performance even more incredible. 😊🤘

This is his song which makes it special, but Rolf was completely enamored with Floor's singing throughout this show. Every time she performed, he looked like a kid in a candy shop.

Floor is an empath. She needs to understand exactly what the story the lyrics are telling. The pronunciation of the words, where the emphasis should be placed on each word to convey the meaning of the song. No matter which of the 8 languages she has sung in, she researches each song so she can convey the exact meaning. She is brilliant.

This whole show "Beste Zangers" is awesome. That season, where Floor was involved, came out in the fall of 2019. The whole Nightwish Army followed those KZbin releases with enthusiasm. It was interesting that before the show, Floor was a relatively unknown singer in her own country. Sure, rock/metal people knew her, but the so-called general public didn't. And they probably expected a very different song from her than what she performed in the show! Her first performance was the classical musical song "Vilja Lied", which she sang in the original language, i.e. in German. If the singers on the spot were amazed by her skill, so were probably all the Dutch people who watched the show on TV. That one song was enough to cause immense enthusiasm for Floor in the Netherlands and a lot was expected of her during the progress of the show - and she fulfilled those expectations! Hi Cami, I think you are very brave making your review in English, I also think it is a wise choice if you want to reach a wider audience! Now for your review, I think your English was very good and the content and assessment of Floor’s vocal abilities and performance was spot on, she’s just amazing! There is another song she sings on Beste Zangers with Henk Poort, it’s a performance of Phantom of the Opera, it’s just fabulous! Also I noticed that someone else has mentioned Shallow, that also is very good! My own other recommendation for her is her cover of Alone by Heart, this is just perfect - if you don’t want to react to it please just listen to it for yourself, it’s just beautiful! 🌹

Floor was born to sing and entertain. She is a vocal story teller. She is able to display the feel of the story in the song and while you can see it and feel it in a video, it's nothing compared to see her doing it live. If you ever get the chance go see her (and her NW brothers)

Cami; te comento que Floor si bien es políglota (habla nerlandés -su idioma natal-; inglés -lo aprendió desde niña y lo maneja perfectamente-; sueco -lo aprendió desde que conoció a su marido y se mudó a Suecia hace unos años-; finlandés -si bien no lo maneja fluidamente, lo entiende-; alemán -lo entiende y lo habla pero no fluídamente- ) no maneja el idioma castellano; la interpretación es 100% por fonética, la cual es IMPRESIONANTE! Te recomiendo la versión de Floor en el mismo prograna de T.V. del tema de Lady Gaga que seguramente conocerás "Shallow"; no es un cover; es directamente "otro tema" y la interpretación de Floor es ASOMBROSA!!!

In English, the crossed out parts appear to be discussing Floor's ability to speak other languages. She started singing in a symphonic metal band at just 16 years old. After Forever (1995-2009). Then she created a new Progressive Metal band, ReVamp (2009-2016). In 2018 she released a personal Hard Rock project (Northward). In 2012, she was invited by Nightwish to finish their world tour, after the band's second female singer (Annete Olzon) left. In 2013 she became Nightwish's full time lead Vocalist. She is a singing teacher. She sings in Dutch, German, English, Spanish, Finnish, Swedish, Italian and Latin. She sings Heavy Metal, Trash Metal, Pop, Rock, Symphonic Metal, Arya and Opera. She even sang rap. THE BEST SINGER TODAY IN THE WHOLE WORLD.

Great reaction Cami :) "That Guy", is the original artist of this song, his name is Rolf Sanchez. He wrote this song after a bad breakup, and wanted to make his feelings known. The original version is a salsa song: kzbin.info/www/bejne/Zp-kY5eqiKl2sMU Floor and the Marcel Fisser band, rearranged it into a rock/metal version with this as outcome. Floor's discharge at the end reminds me of the discharge after the high note in Ghost Love Score at Wacken Open Air, a similar sensation.
