sorta comforting to know I'm not the only one who rode the struggle buss today.

So when all that extra prep needs to be done do you charge by the hour? A lot of customers we have don’t want to pay what it takes to get a floor flat enough for lvp click

@@FloorsbySouthernboys Thank you so much for the offer. In my case, we already hired someone. A local shop that has been in the business in the city since 1955. However, the project has been not a good experience. You keep posting the excellent work you Southern Boys do! I enjoy watching them.

Hey Reuben have you been experiencing any issue with moisture in LVP? It’s a big issue in California and the solution there using is a plastic moisture barrier. Your thoughts on this?
@FloorsbySouthernboys7 ай бұрын
Yes, you need a six mil plastic under all WPC. Most if not all SPC it is not required. And some of the rigid core. It is not required as in this product. Best just to check with each manufacture that you install and see if it is required for that particular product.

@@FloorsbySouthernboys im here in california and its standard here to lay down 6mil plastic underneath all floating flooring with pre attached pad. Either wpc or spc or laminate. At least in the bay area its standard. Too many stores have had issues with flooring with no plastic underneath that i dont know of anyone not laying down plastic now for any floating floor with pre attached pad. Even track homes are laying down plastic now.

Looks good! What patch product are you using, and how much do you think you used to skim that floor?

What’s your thoughts on WPC vs SPC installer wise? Would love your input.
@FloorsbySouthernboys7 ай бұрын
I think WPC is a much friendlier install. SPC is a more rigid, solid plank therefore it does not bend, but also it is more brittle when you are installing. WPC is more pliable and much easier and friendly to install without chipping off any of the locking mechanisms and such.

Did you use primer for the patch?
@FloorsbySouthernboys7 ай бұрын
Yes sir
@user-hy8oh1cy3q7 ай бұрын
@@FloorsbySouthernboys I would have poured self leveler over all that area if there was that many low spots. Set your gauge rake to 1/8 and take spread it around since it doesnt look like it would need more than that. Or if i had used patch i would have used ardex feather finish that doesnt require primer and even less on concrete subfloor
