Nice video. A tip for you. The best gelaterias in Italy always cover their gelato with lids. The ones that are puffed up and exposed are for tourists and not the better ones. The lids help to maintain freshness and Italians know what good gelato looks like anyway.

There is so, so much to see in Florence. Would highly recommend the Farmacia Santa Maria Novella (as well as the associated beautiful church) and the Galileo Museum, which showcases examples of scientific tools, globes, maps, experiments, timepieces, and much much more used by scientists from the 1400s-1800s. During a solo trip around the world in 2019, I spent 4 days in Florence which was not on my itinerary, and other than the Taj Mahal, it was the best unscheduled stop ever. I lucked out reserving an Airbnb, the night before from Athens, a mere block or two from the Bell Tower, and had a blast. Even better at night. Meant to return in 2020 but the pandemic took that away. Hopefully will return in 2022. Great video.

I was there with my wife and Best friend during the world cup! One of the bar's placed a large screen Tv outside and we had drinks and watched Italia play Switzerland with about a thousand local Italians! They adopted us Americans right away because we were rooting for Italy. Italia won the match and it was such an amazing experience. I feel like we made hundreds of new friends that night. Also, We were there for the new lighting on the ponte vecchio. Famous Opera singer Andrea Boteccelli did a concert on the Bridge along with a Water ballet on the Arno, then flipped the switch for the new lighting. I was like 2 feet away from him and got some really amazing pictures. Next time you go back YOU HAVE to visit the Basillica de Santa Croce. Both Gallileo and Michaelangelo are buried there as well as Niccolo Machiavelli and Dante Allegheri, writer of Dante's inferno as well as Renaissance painters and sculptors such as Ghiberti and Rossini. Great video. Brought back many amazing memories. One of these days i will go back for a 3rd time!

My favorite museum in Florence is Museo degli Innocenti in Piazza della Santissima Annunziata. It is about a 10 minute walk northeast of Piazza del Duomo. It is never crowded, has an interesting history, and some unusual displays. The best part is the covered roof top café with amazing views especially if you time it at sun set for aperitivo. Now that you have seen the inside of the duomo, next time you are in Florence, visit Sante Croce. If I had to pick one church to visit after the big 3 (St. Marks Basillica in Venice, St. Peters in Vatican, and the Duomo in Florence) it would be Sante Croce. Plus the Sante Croce neighborhood is very cool.

I worked in Florence doing an exhibition for a clothing company. I've been doing this work since 1992 and have worked all over Europe. For me Fiorentino is by far the best experience I've had at work. Two days putting up the exhibition stand, four days off in the city (paid obviously) day rip out.. The four days in Florence as a tourist.. Incredible, everything..!! Amazing city, loved it.!! Every time you turn a corner there's a über famous piece of art or a breath taking example of architecture.. Aswell as having incredible food and stunning examples of the female of our species.. Back in the days when one could blag ones expenses using blank receipts from the lovely waitresses where we dined. Free beer and naughtys for the week.. The place made it though.. 🇮🇹 ⚜

Hello@@ericalee157, you can purchase the pass just outside the main Train Station, Santa Maria Novella, at the visitors center. I believe the pass is 85 Euro so a good idea is to determine what you want to see and compare the prices. However, the great thing about the pass is it lets you bypass the lines so that alone may make it worth it even if you don't plan on doing a lot. I place a link below for the site, have fun. www.google.com/url?sa=t&source=web&rct=j&url=www.firenzecard.it/&ved=2ahUKEwi3zaaFl8ngAhVj34MKHXtIDVkQFjAAegQIAxAB&usg=AOvVaw19eAqV1VgI6PXoO6YAb8uu

A nice tip to skip most of the lines is to buy the Firenze Card for 24 -48 or 72 hours... you will get free passes for some attractions and "skip the line" preferred entry for most ... Also you have all the rides you want in a hop on hop off bus, with information spoken in you own language and some discounts at listed shops. As you´ll see while using the hop on hop off bus.... there are a many cool places to visit at "Oltrarno" .That means "at the other side of the Arno"

The most useful tip for visiting Florence (and the whole Italy) is to get the "museum reservation" in advance. Is cheap, you can get it online and saves you from very long lines or from early wakeups. This also helps muesums to organize visits with more precision, giving you the best possible experience. Keep in mind that the Uffizi gallery has around 2 milion visitors each year, has a small exposition surface compared to other world famous museums, but has one of the highest density of sights. For this reason a good planning is absolutely vital.
