Thanks for sharing your amazing vacation experience. Also appreciated hearing that you decided to block your VR for a set time so you could actually relax💞😊. My husband and I self manage too. We've yet to take any extended time off in the last 4 years, out of fear our 3 VR properties would be ok without our involvement. Thanks for the inspiration!

It was definitely not an easy decision, but we figured we could always make more money and time away to refill our cups was worth it!

Thanks so much for sharing your vacation adventures. I totally agree with you blocking your rental. Having a complete vacation is priceless, and you will never regret it or miss the revenue you might have made.

Good for you two!! After the year you’ve had and all the work you’ve put into your property, you definitely deserve a real vacation! I was actually curious how you were managing it because I just recently got back from Tuscany and had a friend help since the time difference is so much. I enjoy watching your journey and adventures! ❤

Thank you so much! It was so needed! Having someone check on it here and there while we were away and having the peace of mind of not having guests was wonderful. Next time we’ll probably have a friend help or family so we keep the revenue flowing. Thank you for watching our journey! 🫶

So glad you guys shut it down so you can relax and enjoy. We did the same thing when we were in Costa Rica for 10 days. Just wasn't worth the stress.

I keep my STR running, while on vacation. My last trip was a month. And I am about to hop on the plane for a week long birthday trip. I usually try to time it so that I leave the day after somebody checks in. And then I usually have somebody I trust on call.

So great you have someone you can trust to call on! That's a huge help!

I definitely think blocking the days off and taking a true vacation is a wise decision that's worth it. Taking time to actually fully rest and even to feel bored is so so important for self care. You can't be on 24-7-365!

It was definitely worth it! After the last year we had we'll take all the self care we can get haha

hahah imagine living in a place where all of the buildings are square, built within the last 30-50 years, and every city looks the same no matter which one you go to. And the food at every restaurant is supplied by one of the 10 mega-manufactures, so it all tastes the same. Then you go to a place like Italy with beautiful architecture, thousands of years of history and food made with love. It's truly a magical place for us from the US!

@@kristenandmichael What a strange feeling, being born in Italy I had never thought about it. Last year I went on holiday to Germany (it's an 8 hour drive from my house). Very beautiful but honestly not like Italy. I was in the US in 1999 but only in New York City, so very limited viewing. I hope you will then return to Italy to visit other beauties.

I think that when the train’s 60 plus minutes late you can get a full refund (that’s what happened to me at least 😉) Enjoy Italy 🇮🇹
