Hey Brad, very cool video. I discovered that when looking for a font you can click on the rectangle with the yellow letters in it and a large window opens up with all the fonts on it. That way you can see them better to compare. I love making patches for my motorcycle club.

Thank you for this video. Helped me a lot with floriani and how to digitize. My patch didn't look at good as yours. Could it be the machine and/or the thread that effects the quality?

Brad, re: jump stitches... when you finished the stars and circles select all those as a group, go to your commands and select "end command" and select "trim" from the drop down menu. This will trim all those jumps.

also could you do the outermost running stich first then cut the felt around that then do the patch normal. I just like to get the stuff I have to do out of the way first.

Hi Brad, Thank you for making these videos. Very helpful. I am wanting to learn digitizing and have tried Buzz to Stitches and Sew Art. They seem to be for very simple designs only. I want to be able to create more complex designs such as the one you did here but don't want a complicated software. It looks like you have had experience with different softwares. Can you give me any suggestions? Thanks

Hi Brad, Pretty cool awesomeness there! I have a question as to the cameo silhouette cutter would have cut your circle more accurately? Could we take the circle outline and send to cutter, then have placement line stitched onto the stabilizer? Do you know how to do this, and if so, do you have any tips to make this work? Could you make a follow up video showing this process as another way to create patches? To remove the jump stitches, have you tried using the insert cut (little scissors light up under the design sequence), before and after each dot? You have to click on each and every breakdown of stitch section in order to get the scissors to light up. Also, under the tools tab, general options, choose the machine icon, and you can set the distance you want jump stitches trimmed. I've learned so much from your videos. You should work with Walter Floriani's webinars because your teaching videos are as informative as the master himself!! Thank you for your generousity! If I'm ever in your neck of the woods, I'll stop in your store! I'm about 4-4.1/2 hrs away.

When I make patches I use iron-on tear-away on the patch fabric, take it to the cutter and cut the patch size circles out (or what ever shape) before I stitch on them. Hoop tear-away stabilizer and then sew the first color change, a placement stitch that you created with your patch design and is the same size as the cut circles, so you know where you are going to place the circle. Take the hoop off the machine, spray sticky spray inside the circle. Place the circle patch fabric on the hooped tear-away stabilizer and stitch the next color change which will be a tack down stitch. You create that line just a bit inside the placement stitch when creating the patch. Then continue with your patch design. You can make your last color change (the steil stitch) density at 4 or even 3. I often just stitch 2 sets of steil stitch density 4 (second steil stitch w/o underlay) at the end, makes the satin outline nicer. When you punch it out you often have nothing to trim except the start/stop threads for the steil and run stitch.

I like it!!!! Were u going to make a patch out of it and sew it together with something else??
@nissaarmstrong-poll492110 жыл бұрын
Could you make this an iron on, by adding AppliKay foundation on it before the last satin stitch? The product I am talking about is by RNK Distributing or Floriani. I am curious because I have requests for applique patches like this and I want to make sure I do them right. Thanks, Nissa

I'm trying to do a logo using ftc-u by following your tutorial. You showed how to create an outline on this software but it seems like the right click create outline feature is gone from the ftc-u version. How can I do it?
@EllicottCitySewVac9 жыл бұрын
+Lalaine Altmyer it's still there. The icon looks like a square and circle with an outline around them, when you hover your mouse over it it says "create outline". Alternatively you can select an object and hit "alt+o"

Hi Brad, I'm new with the Total Control and I am trying to make a patch. When I click Create a Design and bring in my design, I do this by opening my design, and everything comes up. When I select the design and then right click it, I do not get get a box that says create outline. What am I doing wrong?

Pam Johnson in total control u youd select the object you want to trace and hit alt o to bring up the create outlines thing, set distance to 0 and ripples to 1 then hit ok

I plan on making lots of military/LE type patches. Does your CD have Marine Corps, Army, AF, Navy, CG, and other government agency logos already? I am also trying to select the best machine and from the reviews, Brother seems to have the best rep. Do you think the LB6800PRW would be preferable, or would the PE770 be the best bet? (They all have USB ports, right?) I'm very interested in creating and sharing scanned designs transformed into embroidery programs, also. How do I join your club? Thanks
@EllicottCitySewVac9 жыл бұрын
CinnabarSunset the cd i refer to in the video only has the design in the video. I don't sell any cds or anything, this video was made for a class I taught in my store, I make a video for each class and give a cd to the people who attend with the video and any artwork. A while back I started posting them online just to help any random people on the internet trying to learn the software.
