One thing I can't stand is narcissistic bears. They see a camera and all of a sudden it's all about them.

People are so surprised by big cats in the states. But they are everywhere, here. You'll never see one in person unless it wants you to. And when you do, you're most likely going to have a bad day. But, they are absolutely beautiful animals. Thank you for these videos! I stumbled across them an hour ago, and can't stop watching. Great stuff!

Exactly. Big cats will see a human being before that human sees the cat. Cats are incredible stalkers

Florida Panthers are gorgeous I live around Cape Haze Florida, and there's a little damn with a long Seawall that has a canopy of mangroves. When I was a kid me and my buddy were crabbing at the dam and as I turned this cat (biggest one I've ever seen in my life) was walking at me like so confident you could see the shoulder blades. I was scared of death she was looking at me paused and then turn around like nothing in the world could bother her.. walk the dog 30 yards and jumped into the swamp side. Haven't seen one and over 13 years all we have is Bobcats and coyotes now.. nice catch.

One of the things that I admire the most about Americans is their friendliness and respect for the environment... Unlike here in Cuba ,animal poaching and trafficking are extremely rare...we are running out of caguamas ,manatees and endemic birds to those malignant practices... We Cubans have a lot to learn from American citizens and law enforcement authorities... Greetings from Havana Cuba.

@tylerrsmith4435 жыл бұрын
I had to read up on these panthers. Only about 300 left and a breeding set needs 200 sq miles of contiguous forest. That is an insane amount of land. Eastern NC and the Everglades are really the only areas in the east that have the land mass to support these cats. Very interesting how different they are compared to how well bears have done in repopulating the coastal southeast. Many thanks for sharing. I will have all my cameras out this weekend for sure.
@LadyGreenEyes9645 жыл бұрын
There are a lot of places these cats can, and do, live, and quite well. People spot them all the time, all over the Eastern states, as well as the Western ones. A cougar can live just about anywhere. I know people who have spotted the, in places they "officially" aren't supposed to be.

From the radio tracking collar on some of those cats somebody is obviously doing a study. It was nice to see that none of those cats had the genetically induced kink in their tail that was caused by such a low genetic pool when they were almost extinct. Bigger population now means a bigger ,therefore healthier, gene pool.

Man, I know what it's like to soak cameras for several weeks, just to find few or even no pics. This past week I picked up two trail cams in the Cascade Mountains of WA state. Combined total of over 11,000 photos of elk, mule deer and one coyote. In only two weeks. It's a three year old burn area and the groceries are thick. Lots of babies and great antler growth. But I've never gotten more than 4K photos in one pickup. Looking like a good area to spend time this fall. I really dig your FL cam pics - gators, cats, deer... Cheers!

I'm a new sub from Kansas and wow, i didn't realize Florida had that much wild life of that type. You don't think that with all the hype thats spent on tourism about that state. I find it pretty cool but I'm not to sure about all those damn poisonous snakes I've seen in your other videos that's crazy. I hate those dang things. But hey to each there own lol. Thanks for sharing theses types of videos and educating folks. There's not much country for that type of wildlife too live in with all the big city and rural development that goes on anymore, man doesn't care they just force them out and don't realize that we need to share the environment with these creatures after all there are very good source for the ecosystem. Thanks again

It's amazing to see what passes by! Even a Florida Panther outfitted with a monitor! Its fascinating stuff to observe what's actually living amongst us! I'm going to do some of this kind of capturing myself! It doesn't harm them, but it might help them in the long run! Keeping this environment for them, not humans!

I enjoyed the video but I'm going to add some comments you may find interesting. First the abnormal conditions you talk about aren't abnormal. What is abnormal is the conditions you talk about the most, the dry elevated trail and surroundings. The Everglades is mostly a wet environment; the absence of pine trees and presence of cypress tree knobs reveal that this is normally a wet area experiencing drought. The almost dried up pool further provides proof of drought brought about mostly by DRAINING of the area by the Florida Flood Control District (FCD) following the hurricane. I've hunted the Fakahatchee Strand, the Loop Road and what is now the Burns Road (Skillet Strand) from 1948-1978 and I can tell you the Western Everglades is a FAR, FAR cry from what it was prior to 1955. Since at least 1959 many areas have been drained to provide access to a variety of users with no thought toward preserving the Everglades only exploiting it. If you haven't joined Friends of the Everglades please do. L.Wagner
@ShrikeZone6 жыл бұрын
Thanks Larry. I wish I could have seen that area and Picayune before it was cut up by loggers. I am a member of the Friends of Fakahatchee and I consider that place my home away from home. I'll be going there this weekend to check my camera on the water hole and to hopefully find some ghost orchids.
