Steve, I always find your exploits entertaining but I rarely ever see you doing the catch, clean and cook videos that were once your main stay on the channel. Any plans to do a few trips for the table? Maybe some deep jigging for tunas??? Can’t remember the last time you made a Mangrove or Grouper sandwich? 🥪🥢 🍽️

We had a lake up here that showed the same foam. They tested it and it was highly contaminated from PFOS or one of those. They attributed it to a base and airfield in the area.. Wonder if they would test that for you. Looks like there's a lot of dead mangroves. It's a 'forever' chemical so there's no fix.

Natural foam build-up is more prevalent in streams and rivers after rainfall because there's more water moving through the ground and more organic matter. The turbulence and wave action at the beach introduces air into the organically enriched water, which forms the bubbles. Foam commonly occurs in waters with high organic content such as productive lakes, bog lakes, and in streams that originate from bog lakes, wetlands, or woody areas.

Steve, I have to be on the water, after a few days pass. On the kayak, motoring around, checking a launch I've never been to. Once you're on the water, the load and Offload was worth it. 😁 🎣 🌊 🛶

Hey Steve, I love your videos. I have been watching your videos for many years. I must say that the hat that you are wearing is one of the best for blocking the sun from the head and the back of the neck. I currently own two of them, and they are hard to come by at times when stores are out. However, the one that you are wearing has definitely reached its retirement. 😊 👍🏼

Astonishing lack of mosquitos or underwater mangrove habitat bites. Perhaps heat hibernations happening akin to bear winter hibernation, or cooler, deeper water refuging. Stay cool!

Man, it even looks hot, lol. When I'm out in extreme heat, I have two water bottles with me. A liquid water bottle and a frozen bottle. Once the frozen bottle starts to melt, drink from that bottle, and pour water from the warm bottle into the frozen one. Problem is, on the road, motels usually don't have fridge's with freezers that'll freeze a liter bottle of water. But when you can do it, it provides more than a couple of liters of ice cold water...

I think the fly you were fishing was a Gurgler for those tarpon. It looked like a floating fly with craft foam. The Schminnow is a classic snook fly created by the legendary Norm Ziegler in Sanibel, FL. Works for tarpon as well, but is a subsurface fly. I can say I have lost a fair share of both flies fishing for both snook and tarpon. LOL! Great video! I love watching your stuff.

I was in the Keys last August. It gets pretty dang hot during the summer. Funny thing is it was over 100 degrees up in the north east when I got home. Even hotter and more disgusting with the city smog and pollution. True story

The foam can be from an algae bloom and the decomposing of said algae. It could also be from a spill of somekind, which would be bad.

I believe that extra foam is due to a loss of salinity in the water. Probably due to intense rains we've been having lately.

No, when large blooms of algae decay offshore, great amounts of decaying algal matter often wash ashore. Foam forms as this organic matter is churned up by the surf. Most sea foam is not harmful to humans and is often an indication of a productive ocean ecosystem.
