Florida Mini Loop Ep.16- Haulover Inlet Sandbar

The crew of Happy Ours have a few days off to kick back and enjoy the beautiful waters of North Miami’s Biscayne Bay. In this episode, we tour Beer Can Island, visit Haulover Sandbar and check out the famous and dangerous Haulover Inlet. The partying continues into the night but our day is ruined by some unfortunate news.
Join the crew as we take our 341 Meridian motor yacht on a 600 mile Florida loop journey from Cape Coral, through Lake Okeechobee to the east coast, down to the Keys and back up the Gulf of Mexico on a 6 week bucket list boat trip.

Generator 👎🏻. At least it occurred in an area with plenty of boat repair infrastructure. Imagine if you were Bahamas hopping 😕. Great reminder to your viewers of the work and crap that yall deal with.🛥️

My 12.5KW Westerbeke generator did the same thing when my voltage regulator board went t out on it. I think it was $150 plug-n-play control board and it was good to go.

I just want to say how much I enjoy your videos. We live in Cape Coral, too, but not near water nor do we have a boat (don’t I wish). I just enjoy seeing our beautiful area from the perspective of the canals and the Caloosahatchee River. Your mini loop trip was fascinating. I am learning so much about our area this way. I was told that Haulover only gets rough when the tide is coming in from the ocean.

I used to live 1 mile west of Haulover and used it every weekend. It's only rough on an outgoing tide when the wind blows against the current.
