Oh this was all just payback from the prior year. FSU had a spear they were planting in Florida field while dancing around with a stuffed gator head. They have their classless “tradition” of digging up grass and taking it home to plant in their cemetery. So all these nole fans acting like this was something new is hilarious. Interesting that while the fight was going on, Floridas coach was in the middle of it breaking it up. FSU’s coach was so butt hurt that his priority was getting to the flag. He didn’t seem to care that his players were fighting.

FSU is perhaps the most spoiled and prima Donna team i have ever seen. Its like a team of Instagramers. First they think they're too good to play on a bowl game and now they think they're too good to have a team celebrate a victory. Maybe play better?
@nickd6712
@nickd6712 12 күн бұрын
You mean the tradition that has been going on for decades and isn't just when FSU beats Florida? The tradition where FSU pays the school that they take the sod from? The same gator head that gets lifted every time they beat Florida? I mean just say you don't know anything about this rivalry lmao the flag planting was new and obviously not agreed to beforehand which is why the players took exception to it, but you know it's just bc FSU's coach was butt hurt *rolls eyes*
@fredflorist1682
@fredflorist1682 12 күн бұрын
Correct. They ripped Florida field grass and messed up the field after beating Florida in Gainesville. It’s the Indian chief who plants a spear in the middle of the field at the beginning of the game. They acted and played out as savages, then want to be treated civilized. LOL. Norvell needed to focus on coaching, rather than acting childish. His team is a disgrace for FSU. Realistically, the best way to prevent planting flags, is to WIN. Norvell can’t get players to win.

The charge is battery for actually hitting someone. Assault is literally just making someone afraid of being harmed. That's why ppl get an assault and battery charge. Just occurred to me that Billy Napier, Florida's coach, looks like Jimmy in another 15-20 years. Love the breakdown! The insanity that is college football provides some great content for guys that really dive into it. Happy holidays everyone!

The main problem I have is it's done before the teams come together and handshake. Everyone bringing up the Michigan Ohio State game, they came together and shook hands first and the flag plant came after when everyone was clearing away. Florida fans wanna bring up last year of FSU cutting the grass with scissors for the turf cemetery. Again, done after players and coaches come together to say good game. Florida got a case of copy cat syndrome and couldn't wait to start some drama of their own

Flag planting has been a thing for years. Why are teams just now freaking out about it? If you don’t want someone to plant a flag on your field, then you protect the field. The end. With that being said, planting a flag after beating Florida state is stupid, they are basically a JV team.

As a rugby fan getting into AF I'll never not laugh at what constitutes as a "fight" in AF. It's a push and shove while jumping up and down as much as they can. It's a cool sport but the "fights" are handbags-at-dawn at best.

Here’s the thing about this rivalry and flag planting: when Florida plays at Florida State, that is the only home game where Chief Osceola gets off the horse to plant the spear, signifying “real war” or whatever. I figure if you lose “real war” you can’t complain about the conquering team planting a flag to claim their territory.
