I've been living in Florida for past 10 yrs. It's starting to become the Handmaid's Tale come to life. We're looking to move to Winston within the year. As soon as my wife completes her master's degree and my daughter graduates high school. Florida has surpassed Texas for ultra conservatives.

NC is a conservative-leaning purple state which works well for me as an Independant. If you are looking for a blue state try Minnesota, Michigan, NY state.

I am looking forward to having seasons again. Since moving down to FL I'm always somewhat surprised when Thanksgiving rolls around because the visual cues still say Summer to me. I grew up in Cooperstown, NY so I'm used to temperature changes and falling leaves to tell me time is passing.

I lived in FL from 99’ until 2020. I moved to NC when Covid started 01/2020. I currently reside in Troutman, NC. My husband and I are under contract for a house in green cove springs, FL to be closer to my family . I’m kind of regretting it, I am trying to do pros and cons for both states.

I would choose NC over FL. At least NC has a Dem governor. FL has a horrific authoritarian governor.
