Good video. I will add an oil collector to the end of the hose. The oil collector needs to be in a cold area to condense the vapors and do not have to much blow by staining the truck.👍👍👍
@DevinShawTV4 жыл бұрын
alpinehs that’s what I did aswell, when I put the new intake in I just ran a hose into a custom made collection take for the blow by, just empty it out every now again
@michaelbenoit2483 жыл бұрын
Just route a hose to the intake/air filter & call it good. Just mod the box, so it vents straight to the intake. These idi’s had some blow by stock, my 7.3 has a tad bit, but isn’t enough where it comes out the fill port, so as long as there isn’t to much you’re good. A little blow by is normal, not something to be afraid of, it’s a 26yr old truck it’s gonna have some.

@GoldStarBakery883 жыл бұрын
@@OCDlosp its a tube that vents crank pressure(contains atomized oil and air) from the engine valley into your intake manifold, its better to have it on the truck. removal will cause a loss in mpg(not much) but no power gains will be made..and atomized oil running over your intake valves isn't such a bad deal..

How'd ya get thay air filter housing back on 🤔... couldn't help but notice there was no shot of that 😁... but the looks of that hose coming up behind the intake manifold, there wasn't room for it. Either way, that CDR valve is an annoying contraption.
@JohnPaul-qh5ys3 жыл бұрын
Ok why didn't you just put a 90° in it and continue to vent it where it was meant to vent? This uls diesel they're forcing us to run isn't good for the idi and now you're taking away even more lubricant from your engine... think about it... these trucks WILL run on straight engine oil and get pretty awesome fuel economy and power doing it!
@ami2evil3 жыл бұрын
Hhmmm, so less lubrication in the intake, cooler temps? Does it run better? I hear additives are the way to go with these because of the new diesel... I used marvel mystery in the oil and fuel, it's cheap... I would assume it works well in these? Anyone else use it?

I need help urgently. I’m replacing CDR valve but noticed that the tube that goes to the engine (at 4:35 in video) is moving from side to side. It’s rubber tube with bottom piece made out of metal. I can’t get it out. Is it supposed to be somewhat lose or does it have to be solid?

@@jaredbrandt9602 yeah, mine was fucking rock hard when I tried to pull the tube/grommet out. So I used a knife and some force to get er out. Took about 2 hours but in the end I got it. As for CDR tube being “loose” I got some sealant on the side of the grommet base. Everything is mint 👌
@jaredbrandt96022 жыл бұрын
@@Sam-pu7nz man I hear ya. I'm glad I found the oil leak and that it's just this stupid CDR valve fitting. My truck has been dribbling oil all year. I've been searching for the stupid 1" ID oil resistant tube for 2hrs...mine was rock hard and split. Gonna have to spend $20 at mcmaster for the right thing...found the plastic fittings on eBay. Looks like the factory parts aren't very oil resistant themselves...resulting in brittle plastic and hard rubber:/ Yea I'm not looking forward to getting the old fitting out, it's been broken and a previous owner popped a pipe fitting in it that doesn't fit well.
