Ellen did one of those tins for the KC Sampler Guild, too. I love mine (I went with the bolder colors and the yellow tin to match my other guild smalls). I use it as a fancy ort tin when I go to retreats. I put the fancy part inside and stitched the side band for the inside too, leaving the top of the tin plain. I miss the guilds. Have fun with your Maynia!

This is my first time watching your may video and I love this idea! I'm sure it's super satisfying for you to rip-off those finished projects and see all those blank days to fill in with new things. Do you use a magnifier or something special to stitch on 40 or 46 count? I am struggling a bit even with 32 and 36 with my aging eyes. 😂 I did get some stronger readers just for stitching those but would love to know if you have any tips or tricks or what you use because your stitching on those counts looks beautiful.
@Handworkmaniac4 ай бұрын
Thank You Stacey!! I love ripping off those finished pieces, lol. I have monovision contacts (one near eye and one far eye) so I don't need readers to read a book. But I do wear 3.5 readers when I am stitching (on top of my 20/20 vision with contacts), and that really helps me see the small stitches.

Can’t wait to see all of those come to life!! sorry if I’ve missed this in previous episodes, but what do you use to mount your projects on the wall?
@madlyngay97644 ай бұрын
Brenda, I have a question, and since I highly value your opinion, thought I’d ask you! I’m doing a Longdog piece (Fish n Ships) on a 32 ct Laguna, tightly woven. After trying both 1 and 2 threads over 2, I feel the 2 threads were too cramped. I actually like the 1 thread over 2 much better. Have you ever used 1 over 2 on 32? BTW, thanks to you, and your video #19, I’ve ordered my Artesan Elan, and can’t wait for it to arrive. I just came back to cross stitch after many years, and enjoy two handed stitching, but holding the Q snap isn’t my favorite as it cramps up my hand. I also can stitch much faster and at age 75, I have to stitch really fast to get all these projects finished ASAP! 😂
@madlyngay97644 ай бұрын
Also, as of July 31st, Artesan will no longer be making the floor stands. Just thought I’d let you know in case anyone was wanting one.
@Handworkmaniac4 ай бұрын
Hi Madlyn! So glad you came back to stitching!! And yes, I had heard that Artisan would no longer be making floor stands, so sad. But I am very glad they will still be making my favorite Elan lapstand :) You should stitch your Fish n Ships the way that makes you happy! It is a very large piece, so you should definitely do 1 strand if you like that better since you will be working on it for a while :) I don't think I have ever used 1 strand on 32ct, but I know many stitchers who love it!
@madlyngay97644 ай бұрын
