I cross stitched for 15 years in the 80's to 90's we were taught to put our tiny initials and the year in cross stitch on the bottom right. It's fun to hear my kids comment when they see the year my work was made "you made before I was born"!

I like drops or loran floss cards. The reason is because the floss is precut to the length that I like to use. You can easily pull a single strand out, thread your needle and you’re ready to go. (My new floss trick is to use a damp sponge to drag my thread across to dampen it. It straightens the floss and prevents knots.) I also use Pako organizers, whicj\h I really like cuz they have foam that you can stick threaded needles in next to each color.

Hello Hailey! I am also a newbie using mostly Lori Holt 10 count and stitching her patterns along with things like Truckin Along by the Housewives. I always wait to subscribe till I make sure I like the designs chosen..and I do so I have subscribed! I absolutely LOVE the Vivster designs after seeing your project so thank you for some serious enabling!! I thoroughly recommend Lori Holt”s bee minder floss holder and I also like her nifty needles. Oh and I have been a quilter far longer than a stitcher.

I have used bobbins in the past, and it kinks the threads, making knots more likely. The thread drops are much more convenient, the threads don't kink and the threads are pre-cut, so you don't have to stop and cut. I make my own drops with card stock and stamp punches from Michael's...they are also on amazon

Ziplock snack bags and 3x5 index cards work great for me in floss storage. Write floss number on index card in upper corner. Store bags in numerical order in photo boxes purchased at Hobby Lobby. Showing all your craft projects in one video works well for me. Watch Olivia “Pumpkin Hollow Quilts”. “Elizabeth Ann Can Stitch” has a good framing tutorial. Maynia can be done anyway you want - no rules.

I think you should share what you want to share. Its your channel. Make it your style with sharing what you are loving to do. I'm not a quilter but I still like to see and hear about quilting projects. Love what you are working on. Congrats on your first finish! I just finished my first too but its not "fully" finished as I have to get it into a frame then its fully finished LOL I use thread drops. Then they are ready to go when I am ready to use them LOL The whole idea of winding and unwinding and then kinks and creases to deal with were a deal breaker for me but I think everyone has to just do what works best for them. Oh also I make my own drops so I will always have enough for whatever I am doing LOL Thanks for sharing! Look forward to the next video. Felicia =)

I do cross stitch and quilting, I just started a channel so I’m calling it a Crafters Log instead of a floss tube. But it’s mostly cross stitch haha.

I just have a suggestion, that you put some kind of label on your first cross-stitch saying that it is your first and the year, so that years from now your have that history designated. The flosstuber Pumpkin Hollow Quilts-Olivia stitches and quilts. She shows her quilts at the end of the video, so if some of the stitchers aren't interested they can move on. She is a wonderful quilter and stitcher. You are doing great with your videos. Looking forward to watching your progress.

Great suggestion! I keep a virtual album of all my work on my phone but I’ll definitely be adding labels to these to keep track! I’ll check out Pumpkin Hollow Quilts too! Thank you 😊

I’m very late but if you are planning on putting those beautiful pieces on the wall where you film it might be helpful to get a non-reflective price of glad so it isn’t reflective (I’m guessing you are using some sort of light to film)
