Oh I DID NOT want this flosstube to end!!! I'm going to go back and rewatch the quilts section! I had goose bumps by the time you got to the Civil War quilt!!! I remember reading years ago that women would send quilts they had made to their sons who were fighting in the war. Can't you just picture and feel in that quilt the soldier who laid on the ground after fighting all day and cuddles up in his mothers quilt!

Loved your history tour! My grandmother used feed sacks for so many things. She even made me shorts from feed sacks. Yes, I am well into my 70's and love all quilts and quilting. I learned from that Grandmother as I sat next to her as she sewed. She would be so shocked at the cost of fabric and that we are not using old clothing and feed sacks to make our quilts. Thank you! As always, watching your video was a treat. I wonder if we are related since my mother’s maiden name is Allen. I loved the stories of the quilts, feed sacks, and egg money. My grandmother, a child of the Depression born in 1925, told me that they took eggs to trade to pay for their lunches at school, and they thought everybody wore feed sack dresses. She saw a lot in her 90 years. Thank you for being a bright spot in my little world.

Please share pictures of your library! It sounds gorgeous!And my dish! What a finale showing us that beautiful antique sewing machine - what a find and so happy it is now part of your home! And, that feed sack quilt brought tears to my eyes…I have a very old & tattered quilt that my great grandmother made with the Dresden pattern …I don’t know if it’s feedsack but, I know she lived through very tough times.
