A lovely dedication to Moira Blackburn, Nicola, and I remember that magazine article about her; I was so inspired by the photos of all her samplers hanging in her home. It was the first time I’d encountered a ‘sampler wall’. Her designs were the first samplers I stitched too. I still have her original catalogues but sadly some I would have loved to have stitched have not been available for many years. Never mind, HATS more than compensates! Congratulations on your latest design. Have a good week.

Love that multiplication table sampler! All those lovely colors! And one of these days, I’ll get to see all the colors in your garden! 🪴 ❤ The tent stitch on the diagonal is also called basketweave in needlepoint, I think. All that filling in they have to do, it’s a great stitch! Thank you for these wonderful and very instructional tutorials! ❤️😘

Thank you Nicola, I love the Gobelin stitch (pronounced Go-beh-lin) which has a very interesting history. It is named after the 17th century French family who had a famous tapestry business and takes their name as it resembles their tapestry. The multiplication sampler is a beautiful design and you must have worked very hard when designing it and it is so nice that you are sharing it with us. Happy stitching. 🪡🧵♥️

I found Bromiley Phelan's obituary online at The Times - it was an interesting read, and re-reading the author's 'bio' on the back flap of The Goodhart Samplers, it's mentioned there she had an embroidery shop too - that would have been a great store to go to I bet! Your Multiplication sampler is beautiful!

Thank you. I found how you hold your needle very interesting. Saving the videos and taking notes as I watch them. Have gone back to the backstitch video several times and they are very helpful.

There are quite a few typos on the RSN Stitch Bank which is disappointing. I was also very discombobulated when watching their shaky videos on How To stitch the stitch unlike the overhead camera tutorials you show and Jean Farish. The few I watched gave me a headache. I think they could have done better.
