Thank you. I really enjoyed this video. I sometimes watch them two or three times just to see the stitches again, so mesmerizing.

Enjoying these tutorials very much as my stitching has mostly been figuring it out on my own. I am loving how my version of the little sampler is working up!

Good morning! I really like the idea of using a blanket/buttonhole stitch in place of satin stitch for certain things. Brilliant! I love learning how to use stitches in unexpected places! Thank you!

I am currently taking an on-line class on Visible Mending from the RSN. We are using the buttonhole stitch to secure the edges of the applied patch. Thanks for showing us the many different versions of the buttonhole stitch!

I just watched the detached buttonhole being worked again after looking through books and instructions from my sampler. I always try this one before doing it on my sampler and am never completely happy with it when I'm doing it, but it comes together and is really nice once it's finished. I loosened me tension a bit as Nicola shows and the stitch does look better

OMG! I loved that last example of a buttonhole stitch you showed. And that glimpse of that gorgeous sample with all that beautiful stitching! I can only dream of stitching something that beautiful! Thank you...

Thank you Nicola for another interesting look at a set of stitches. I wonder do you keep your doodle clothes? I think it is fun to look back at how much progress can be made when you practice. Happy stitching, Teresa 🪡🧵

What beauty can be made with needle and thread. I am inspired and encouraged to try these new stitches. I do love hearing how your boys are doing. We all need a pack of friends to be with. Blessings, lots of love. Be well❤❤❤

I had no idea that the buttonhole could be worked in so many ways. Last week someone commented on how you held your needle and I re-watched the video and noted how much control you had on the thread. That has also been very helpful to me.

I have done a lot the buttonhole detached stitch while working projects done by Sue Spargo, she is a master at folk wool applique, originally from South Africa and now lives in Ohio. Her work is amazing

Thank you again for showing us another beautiful stitch! I'm learning so much from your tutorials and your wonderful demonstration of the stitch and your clear explanations! I have a pattern that calls for use of the nun stitch that looks similar to the buttonhole stitch/blanket stitch. Do you know if the nun stitch is yet another name for this stitch, or is the nun stitch something completely different? Thank you, Nicola!

The nun stitch is worked differently. I had hoped to include it in the blanket/buttonhole video. However, when my husband telephoned to ask me to assist him with something it meant a change of plan. I will show the nun stitch as part of the ABC tutorials.

Thank you for another great tutorial! I really like the crossed buttonhole stitch. Also, I'm thinking that if I practice the tailor's buttonhole on 56 ct linen and soie surfine with no gaps, that the size and spacing of my Milanese buttonhole stitches will improve; double win! The detached buttonhole stitch looks a bit like some needle lace that I saw. Do you know whether this stitch is also considered a form of needle lace? Thanks, again! 💖
